What is "Quality Hold" Status

Mine arrived to Portland port in late April. It was on rail before May 5 because my screenshot from dealer showed it was on rail to dealer in Nebraska on 5/5. Expected to arrive 5/17 when it went on hold. I found out about 2 weeks ago it has been in Indiana at the rail yard waiting for QC hold to lift. Only about 130 miles from dealership so hopefully once QC lifts it will be on a truck and I can take delivery.

Now that I have actual dates from my dealer, I might be able to provide some insight.

My Sport Premium:

• 4/18 - Built
• 4/30 - Shipped on Triton Highway
• 5/12 - Arrived in Portland
• 5/15 - Departed on Rail
• 5/24 - Arrived at Dayton's Bluff rail yard in MN
• 6/23 - Left Dayton's Bluff on Truck
• 6/24 - Arrived in ND

This wasn't the Indiana rail yard and the Indiana one is probably busier than St Paul, but I would be surprised if yours is finishing up imminently.

I wonder if there are shipments that leave Japan every day or not. And if they do what determines the load order?
Like in the example above it took 12 days to get on the boat. Is that long, short, average?
Could it be loaded like a day after being built?
Would be cool if Toyota did a video on the process from the beginning.

I personally think it depends on how congested the dock is, how many orders are ahead of yours, whether or not the shipping vessel got caught in bad weather, etc. Here's my timeline, I'm guessing it just varies from day to day. Mine spent 7 days at sea, but my buddy's spent 9 days.

Build begins 5/14
Leave factory, move to dock 5/28 (14 days later)
On the boat for the US 6/4 (7 days later)
At TLS California staged for processing 6/18 (14 days later)
TLS adds installed options and pushes to railyard 6/26 (7 days later)

I rec'd regular updates starting way back...,arrived in port...,on the rails...,passing through Cheyenne..., made it to Arkansas on 5/14 15 minutes away from me in Memphis. Secured my loan through my credit union 5/15...,put on quality hold 5/16..., check expired 6/16 and reissued...,1st payment due 6/28 so I just made it plus a large principle payment.

Answer: I am not a man of faith, I am philosophical...Reaching out to the dealer 1 time or every day has the same results, it'll get here when it gets here.

I believe all updates come in after noon pacific time. But yeah I’m in the same boat lol

I see what you're meaning. Since this was a pre-approval, my credit union sent me the check and when I go to pay for it it requires both me and the dealer to endorse it. I have the check. The checks are only good for 30 days so in my case it expired and they issued a new one. That doesn't change the terms of the loan so my first payment was still due 6/28. I decided not to withdraw the loan and reapply simply because I didn't want another ding on my credit.

It won’t be on the spreadsheet. It will be a notification on the dealer status page your salesman has access to.

It is the Memo note that is what the dealer view has. Unfortunately it is the only thing that doesn't show on the site/spreadsheet.

So I might as well share my experience here as well. Placed my deposit in April and still have no word or idea what's going on.

Oddly enough my vehicle does not show on the spreadsheet or on toyota.com the only place I can find it listed is on autonationtoyotaarapahoe.com

I do wish the image I was sent regarding the delay had some kind of hold info like the others I have seen on here.
