I bought a 4runner and stumped what this part that came with the truck is. Anyone know?

Looks like a hitch pin in case you end up with a tow hitch. Actually, I think mine came with one too.

You will probably want to use a locking hitch pin anyways. I keep the one that came with it for a spare.

The hitch on these trucks have extra plating around the hitch insert, which makes a standard hitch pin too short.

Just curious, do those of you who had those come with your truck get the trailer tech package or get the OEM insert? Or did it just come with the truck?

I had the towing tech package. With digital rear view mirror but I assume everyone gets a hitch pin since that’s a standard feature

Mine does not have a tow package. I did notice this hitch pin in the glove box in SR5s i test drove as well
