I have always had a rule...never set my key down inside the vehicle. The only 1 time in over 40 years my key got locked in is when it literally fell out of my pocket (or maybe hand, I do not recall) when I got out. In the old days I also had a rule to always use the key to lock the door--then it is truly impossible to lock the key inside. Now with electronic, and even physical keyless, systems that has changed a bit. However, I still never set it inside the vehicle. I put it in my pocket; given the somewhat curved shape I have not had a problem. You could tape it to your forehead if the pocket is too annoying ;-).

Agreed about the panic button. I have never seen much of a point to them, and too easy to hit unintentionally. Even worse with remote start (although at least with that you have to hold it for a couple seconds). I may make a cover for the fob to either fully cover said buttons or at least make them inset/much smaller opening.

That credit card sized option is interesting, but way to expensive for my tastes for what it does.

I'm confused. If you can't/won't carry the FOB in your pocket, what do you do with it when you go into a restaurant or doctor's appointment or whatever? Lanyard?
