Hopefully if you kerb crawl around the red light areas often enough, it won't be flagged as suspicious when you're doing it.

Just a normal pattern of behaviour.

Nothing new, this has been available for years, itā€™s just a question of the old privacy debate. Mobile phones have/are the best tracking device to date.

Bottom line is who and when to inform when trackingā€¦ā€¦not guilty until caught!

FWIW, the location feature on my mobile phone is usually turned off.
Doesnā€˜t matter. The location feature is only for you and your apps. Your phone is still being tracked by the carrier. They log this information and law enforcement can obtain it, if needed.
If you donā€™t want to be tracked, ditch the cell phone or put it in airplane mode.

ANY electrical item that has a frequency can be used, thatā€™s not just transmitting but also power as that also uses frequency. Hence why Faraday principle is used for ā€˜secureā€™ facilities with no metal (pipes, conduit, steel stricter etc.) transiting from inside the Faraday to external, cables will have a filter blah blah.ā€¦.enough of the geeky detail but any item that has a frequency (transmitting or power) can be used to track/monitor/listened to/from etc regardless of user settingsā€¦..it just needs to be powered up/turned onā€¦ā€¦

Maybe the case, but as far as a carrier is concerned they are only tracking actively logged in devices to their networks. Turning off the cell radio on your phone disconnects the device from the network.

Barely on topic (initial post) ..... ?

That Enrochat phone takedown by the authorities seems to be the present that just keeps on giving for European law enforcement.

I bet there were a lot of people feeling like they had been kicked in the stomach when they got the message to say the system has been compromised.

I wish someone would come up with an ALPR blocker for the license plate (I realize the camera can recognize the car make and color).

Oh? What is it used for? UC law enforcement? Who makes it? I would be all over that if I could get one.
