Given the state of the Software I’d not want to be amongst the first to receive an updated version of it. Chances are it makes things only worse :p
But we all like to be Betatesters anyway, otherwise we would have not bought a brand new car.
Does any Porsche has phone-as-key? Maybe the problem is actually the app. Could be the App does not support it yet, it needs to be able to set up keys with the wallet.
Could be that the car already supports this nicely.
If you prefer range over speed you already answered the question yourself. The range difference when driving normally is quite small however, the speed difference is definitely hugely noticeable.
I got the insulated car and the car is so amazingly quiet, it is unbelievable. Is it necessary...
@byebye how much mileage does your car have? The manual states that the car might use more energy in the first 3000km and also not fully uses recuperation. Additionally, I have also noticed that the car occasionally use the breaks to make sure they get some use
Let us not start a discussion about other brands, my post said nothing how these cars drive and how they work.
I am only talking about the ability to update the software. My BMW has an update every quarter with zero issues whatsoever. The Macan is still the better car but again, that was not the...
No one, but my point was not that Porsche is modern. I am still very happy with the car though.
BMW, Tesla, Polestar, Hyundai, BYD, Rivian, Lucid, Mercedes can and all do very frequent updates. And there are way more.
I also find the 4S the sweat spot. The 4 felt a but too slow for its weight while the 4S has always enough power. The Turbo will just spoil you for all other cars forever :)
So most modern manufacturers are able to update the car in your own garage “over the air” in 10minutes. And Porsche requires the car to be at the dealer “for several days”. That is just mind boggling.
I would not draw much conclusions for the Macan out of this.
The Taycan and other models do run on the Software platform called MIB3. Yesterday’s announcement mentions that this is a simple upgrade to that existing platform with better hardware and app support.
The Macan however runs on a newer...
The 600km range was never promised for -10 degrees. None of the electric cars will manage that, the Macan isn't particularly worse in winter than others. Not even my ICE car gets their promised range in -10.
On the flip side, we're getting really good range in central europe now as it started to...
There are two levels of Apple Car Key.
The basic support requires the phone to be touched to the door handle and the phone to be on the middle console for driving. That's what some older BMW models have. This is using NFC.
There is a 2nd generation which works with UWB that works like the...
