Update: 23,000 miles, or 37,000 km on original tires. Macan 4 is 18 months old. Not down to wear bar yet. Pirelli Scorpion MS 285/45/20 (rear size). I drive moderately aggressively, but also have a lot of highway miles.

I have two 2024 Macan 4 on air suspension (US standard). Having had air suspension on my last four vehicles, I much prefer it.
No rattles. Before buying, you might ask the dealer’s service center to assess how easy they think it might be to address any existing rattles in the vehicle you’re...
I too have had this issue at least once with a stopped vehicle in front. In a 2023 Audi Etron I used to own, I recall it was noted in the owner’s manual that this was a limitation of the cruise control. That made me aware that it also might be an issue for Porsche.
A May 20 WSJ article indicates Germany has lost 100,000 auto jobs since 2019 and is expected to lose another 125,000 by 2035. Part of this is due to the move to EV’s which are simpler to build, but most of the losses are due to an “uncompetitive business environment:” high taxes and levies...
I too looked at the G EV. For me, the low range, lower efficiency and slower charging speed were suboptimal, since I do a fair amount of highway driving. But loved the interior space.
While I think we all can agree that the build quality of the Macan EV isn’t the same as the 911 (so models do...
I also just returned from a long trip, 3,000 miles, from Phoenix to western Missouri, up to Nebraska and home. It was mostly highway, except for a long leg after Omaha across an EV charging wasteland on the backroads, north to south across Kansas, Oklahoma and into Texas. One Ionna charger on...
Just FYI. My wife was having CarPlay spotty connection issues on her iPhone 15. I have had no issues with my 17 Pro connection. AI said it was due to temperamental tech in the older 15. Replaced her phone with a 17 Pro and now zero issues. Sometimes AI is right. Sometimes it’s not the...
Great report!
As an aside, I too had a 981, but mostly I was choosing to drive my Cayenne GTS. I loved the 981, but the utility and driving position of the Cayenne was so much better. Now both those are gone, replaced by the Macan(s).

A charging deep dive.
Lots of discussion in other threads about Porsche software issues, other brand’s pros and cons. I just wanted to raise this video (above) to the forefront once more.
One of the key points they make is that if you really want the best chance of getting a trouble free vehicle, DO NOT buy the...
My wife’s Macan dropped the phone from the hotspot (or vice versa). I went to troubleshoot. My phone connects seamlessly. So it is not the Macan. My wife has an older iPhone 15, and I have a 17 Pro. I asked AI, and it steered me to toggling airplane mode, restarting, etc. AI also indicated...
The yellow alert, “charging port impaired” looks ominous, but I have found it will pop up if the powered door tries to close and is blocked, even when it closes properly on the second attempt. Maybe it will pop up in more serious situations as well, but in this case it is trivial and eventually...
Sorry to inform that thermal glass makes no difference in the way the door closes. Still not great.
The one thing I really miss in the Macan? An option for soft close doors.
From my perspective, there are more than enough high speed chargers in this area, especially along major highways. In the past, I’ve used the EA chargers along I-10, through Texas, New Mexico and Arizona (in an Audi EV with less than 200 miles range, and relying only on EA). I’ve never...
The infrastructure is more than adequate in New Mexico and surrounding states, and has only become better with Tesla stations. Fear of traveling causes self-limiting behavior, but it can be overcome by having a plan and conducting purposeful, incrementally longer trips to build confidence.
In...
