Yeah it was a horrible day 😃
I am testing the limits (of my patience)… today I was driving for the range and got it down to 18.4 just for the sake of testing.
Almost criminal to drive -a Turbo car like this…
It is surprisingly good and I would say fast enough, I would not make it go faster. At the beginning I used the brake to interrupt because I did not know it would go backward and forward.
As we are in an Electric car, for long trips we must (should) use the car navigation to:
- optimize and precondition batteries for charging
- dynamically choose charging spots according to consumption and charge network availability
From CarPlay all I use for navigation is Waze and eventually...
I did several times. It parks well and all alone. I will do a video.
A question I was asked was what happens if the parking lot has a lot of empty spaces and the answer is: it will either not offer to park or park parallel hehehe
The charging process should be fully controlled by the car, not the box... The box can be any box as it should only limit current and eventually enforce it's own charging schedule (that might be different than the one programmed in the car).
Great numbers, you have a light foot, I am on 26kw/h average 😅 although I did a few sub-20 drives. I will ride smooth for a couple of days to see if I can get to 17s…
Just a note, the parking can involve going forward and backward and it does everything by itself, wierd experience, I hit the brake once and there is an option to continue and it continues until the end, try it 😅
Another very good step forward is the connection with carplay is so fast that as soon as you open the door it is already connected! Maybe because of comfort access, but a big step forward from Taycan.
I was wondering why not a range setting like in the taycan and found that it does it automatically. The Macan lowers according to driving speed. I found because I was going to put it lowered but it was not available if riding at more than 150km/h
Also did my first auto parking and it worked...
It looks like this and it is a little bit “constrained” in the sense that for example motorbikes that pass betweens the cars in lanes are not shown between the the cars, it “pushes” them into the lanes.
Car, trucks and motorbike brake detection is quite visible.
Another point is that when...
Push to pass only on ICE (i.e. 911) or latest version of the Taycan.
My Macan EV Turbo has sports chrono and I confirm it has no push to pass. I wonder who would want more power, it has a brutal acceleration as it is… yyyhaaaaaa!!!
There is simply no integration… One “ignores” the other. You are aither in the carplay context or in the car context and it is hard to switch between them in the current context (i.e. go to the radio from carplay)
When you are in the carplay and want to change station, good luck getting there…...
Hello to all,
I got my Macan delivered a few days ago and here are my impressions. For context I own a 911 (992 4s Cabriolet), a Taycan GTS and had a Macan Diesel until last Year. Also tested a Cayenne. First a few pictures, then I will give first impressions, likes and dislikes and compare...
