Turbo output numbers are interesting- max power similar to the Taycan Turbos' full-time figure, while max torque significantly higher than even the Turbo S's launch max. Does that mean that the motors run much slower in the Macan (or even that the torque figure is actually in Nm rather than...
😁
So the base model is a Macan 4...that would be significant if, as I guess, there was never an ICE Macan 4, so suggesting that there will be a RWD added to the range down the line.
That would put it around the current Macan GTS and the Cayenne E-hybrid. That might be partly justified by the expected performance of the base EV Macan, but I'd guess that the success (and the importance to Porsche sales) of the current Macan is built on it being a "cheaper" Porsche for...
If it managed 298 miles plus 7 forecast range, and it has 95kWh usable capacity, the consumption would I think be 31.1 kWh/100 miles. Perhaps it's inherited the Taycan's habit of being a little generous with its reported consumption numbers.
If I may add another point from a different perspective to my original...unlike the Taycan, which benefits from being a bit of a niche product (particularly in 5 door form), the Macan will compete in the most popular category (SUV/Crossover), which is only becoming more popular as the preferred...
I expect it'll be a good car and might suit many better than a Taycan, but that front looks like a copy and paste error with 2 sets of headlights and "radiator" grilles superimposed. From other angles, the curviness combined with tall long cabin and truncated rear (especially in black) shows a...
Apols that I'm too lazy to read up on it, but this picture looks like they're targeting the untapped enormous demand for flying cars with something that just looks so safe, useful and practical.
When I had my Lancia Integrale- only ever built in LHD form- my other treasured possession was a grabbing stick that had a pink flamingo head, essential for presenting my pass to automatic barriers in secure car parks. Without it, my only alternative was to reverse in.
That's an interesting analogy- but IMO it doesn't have the functional honesty or simplicity of the architecture- with all that bling I reckon it's more "mock-brutalist" (with the automotive equivalent of fake tudor beams).
They're clearly in demand, but the "Utility" bit is often compromised by fastback styling and now the EV battery pan means a high roofline no longer enables a correspondingly high ride height. I guess the "commanding" driving position is a big part of the attraction (not having a go at owners...
I wondered the same. Google led me to articles such as

Though the Taycan, Panamera and Cayenne are close in external width, the Taycan cabin tapering to the rear makes it significantly the least wide across the rear seats (not that I've taken a tape measure to them all).
I can see that there is a market (even if in UK it's less practical- but now we're even seeing more oversize pickups / Taliban taxis that make Range Rovers look handy)...but I don't think it's a good fit with Porsche's sporting attributes. Maybe similar words to those were uttered when the...
