my SA told me as long as you have the harness pre installed (ordered) it is much harder for Porsche to make a case against any dashcam. they would now only have to find a way to prove you installed it wrong. BTW i am planning on the DR770x box version for my Turbo when it arrives. ( i just...
Ahh thank you. For PPF do parts of the macan need to be removed. I am hoping they don’t mess with the car itself. And just wrap as is. I have seen videos where nothing gets removed and others where they take lots apart. The car was just put together and now it gets removed again is too much...
Very true. For me it was important to have instant access no matter where. Always interesting to hear what the techs say when the client is not around. I actually had one tech turn of my camera. And that is why I went with the box version.
has Anyone successfully installed this on an Porsche EV Macan ?
I think this is a great solution to theft. but will it work with this new platform or Porsche itself.
I reached out to the manufacture but have not heard back yet.
i guess when you measure the first time... write down the temp and next time i guess measure only when the temp is the same maybe easier to have a consistent SOH reading then.
I think it is 4 , but it is a brand new platform so who knows what we encounter. I am in the same corner wanting to see what can be added (or improved). As I forgot Sport Chrono in my Turbo order. Hoping it can be coded later on. Done plenty of coding on my M3 so i hope the "other" german will...
Don’t think so. proprietary. But would be nice to find a way to make that work. Not enough information from Porsche about the wiring harness. Also when using the box version The camera wiring is completely different. The prewiring will be of no use. On the dr970x non box version it could...
I want to have always live access to my
Cam no matter where. That’s why I go with the BlackVue Dr770x boxed version. Maybe not as oem. But way more functional.
My first idea if it works is to cut the signal to the park/drive/reverse button. What I don’t know yet if it throws errors when the switch is open. Will have to check when I get mine.
Understood. But I believe. “Prevention is better than healing” not having to deal with a stolen car is better in the first place. I am glad it worked out for you so far. I know of people that wish they were in your situation. I am trying to leave as less as possible to chance.
Killswitch. But not sure yet how to best do it on the Macan. As it was easier on an ICE version. Using a killswitch will allow you to still use CA. If you don’t mind that they can break in but at least not drive off. Also put a lock on your OBD port access.
Today I went to Audi and was told that the ppe platform structure charges the 12v battery also as the car is being charged. I wonder what is now true. What actually charges the 12v battery.
