It certainly plays a part in this. As it draws about 1/2 Ah. So yet it does the problem I have it that the car let’s the battery completely drain no matter what. I think it should step in when. A threshold is reached. My BlackVue has a voltage cutoff set to 12v. Yet the car is is still...
Correct. But sometimes if I dont drive my car for more then 3 days I get punished because the car does not maintain the battery. I have to do it myself somehow.
I know the car gets charged when it is turned on. But I never tested what the minimum turn on is for it to provide power to the battery. Maybe worth Ido some more testing. This would ofcourse not fix normal day to day use.
The first time they have determined that there was no parasitic draw then. But I wonder if they tested if there is no charge or maintaining the battery either within the car. Not sure if they tested that. Or there even is such a thing. Right now to get around this I run the heater 2-3 times a...
That is my question to make sure I understand it right. Let’s say I want to set a timed heating at 7am in the morning but I only want it to be 65F instead of a predefined number. Right now it is giving me 88F. Is that because I had it set in the car last to 88. That’s why it gives me that ...
They had my car for 1 week and determined that it was a bad battery. They went back and forth with porsche.
I am actually more concerned about that the car does not maintain the 12v battery. Draw or not.
Here is the Power curve from the reader that is directly attached to the Battery
Pict 1 Shows when the battery is at a lower range. There is no indication that the cars Battery control module steps in to help when the charge goes low.
as you see at around 10.30am the car dies.
When i got back...
I was told by the dealership it is an AGM type. But I am not sure what to believe anymore especially from dealerships.
I think any voltage charge below 15V was fine for lead AGM type. As long as it is not over that. But I could be wrong entirely as I go by other sources. Lithium is tricky...
Yes that is how it would make the most sense. I currently have to run the heater remotely to trigger the car being charged when it goes below 12v. No BCM doing anything. I wish that were the case. It seems we need to watch it ourself. Makes no sense.
Yes same here. You may miss it if you play music. It is scary. I did not notice it at first. But this last week I noticed. But not only in reverse. In both directions.
I wish this was true. The battery reader that is connected to the actual 12v terminals says otherwise . It says numbers like 20% or down to 10% I connected to battery when it was down to 10% to a charger to avoid damage to the battery. What you describe sounded like a lithium battery that...
it seams based on the blackvue model the draw could go up to 1/2 amp. And with small 12v EV batteries that could be true. if i leave my car unattended for 24h the voltage drops below 12v and then it goes into the area where it gets tricky. i have the extra B130x battery from blackvuue and...
Here are my $0.02 on the 12V EV issue my car was (is) plagued with.
A few weeks ago, my car had to be towed to the Dealer as the 12V battery was dead. (consequently, also damaged).
At that time no one knew what caused it. I was told i had a bad cell in the 12V battery.
Well now i have a new...
Same here . mine did not switch when DST kicked in. I had to toggle automatic to manual and back and forth a few times. Quite annoying. When you expect the heat to be on that morning and it is cold in the car.
