Turbo - red circle of death, perhaps a fix for my car... but battery idle issue

Renault may be very efficient, but I still have a doubt. The SoC that cars usually display is calculated using an algorithm (just like the range indicator), and each manufacturer/engineer does it differently. The only known way to determine the capacity of an EV battery is by charging "x" kWh...

Turbo - red circle of death, perhaps a fix for my car... but battery idle issue

Yes, that can work. Activating the car's turn signals/horn also works. But be careful, this will wake the car from "sleep" mode and it will consume a little more energy. Anyway, I don't want to make a big deal out of this. 1% = 1 kWh can mean €0 if you charge with solar panels, or €0.06 x 30 =...

Turbo - red circle of death, perhaps a fix for my car... but battery idle issue

Yes, sorry for the typo (SoC) I don't want to start a debate. If someone thinks an EV doesn't lose energy over two weeks, good for them. That's not the case with my car, and I don't think it's the case with most others either. There's a lot of information out there about other EVs, but for...

Turbo - red circle of death, perhaps a fix for my car... but battery idle issue

Yes, that's right. The information usually updates when you unlock the doors. Although sometimes it doesn't. The most reliable way to check the SoC is to sit in the car and start it.

Turbo - red circle of death, perhaps a fix for my car... but battery idle issue

Sorry @Petzi, but you shouldn't look here. You should look here. Anyway, forget the app. To check the SoC status, you have to unlock the car, sit down, and start it. One thing's for sure: the car consumes energy while stationary (all cars do it, even ICE cars). How much energy? I don't...

Turbo - red circle of death, perhaps a fix for my car... but battery idle issue

As I said: (The app is useless for verifying this data because it doesn't update the information until the doors are unlocked. You have to open the car and check the SoC.) I'm not saying that a 1% daily loss is normal, at least not without supporting data. But I can say that a 0% loss is not...

Turbo - red circle of death, perhaps a fix for my car... but battery idle issue

I think there's a lot of misinformation about how our cars' batteries are managed. Neither Porsche (nor any other brand) provides details on how the battery is managed and the power consumption of its various components. It's truly outrageous that this information isn't provided to the rightful...

Does your Macan EV keep SoC stable when left idle for a week or longer?

October? I'm not sure, but I suspect the drop in temperatures might cause that 1% daily loss. At least I've noticed it in mine. During the summer it was 0%, these days it's 1%. Of course, the app isn't for checking the SoC; that data doesn't update until you unlock the car.

    My 1st Service @ 1 year / 18K miles

Personally, I prefer this option. It's barely visible. I installed it on both front seatbelts. The standard clip solves the problem temporarily, but it eventually shifts and hits the B-pillar again when you're alone.

Macan 4 EV Ownership Report: 1 Year, 16,600 Miles (26,560 km)

@dgkhn Nothing further, your honor. Finally, a much-needed thread of satisfied drivers. Before receiving the car, I too suffered from "worry syndrome" when reading the forum. I thought about how many problems I would face when it arrived. I've driven over 10,000 km and to date, zero problems...

Macan EV Poll: Type and frequency of software-related issues you have had with your vehicle?

You're right if you're talking about software in general, but we're talking about vehicle safety control systems. This is regulated by law, and statistical or nondeterministic control systems are not permitted. You surely know that all critical systems are governed by RTOS, meaning deterministic...

Macan EV Poll: Type and frequency of software-related issues you have had with your vehicle?

Software is absolutely deterministic; the same inputs produce the same outputs. I agree that, after iterating for a certain amount of time, there are different system states that can cause errors or unexpected results. However, a complete reboot (for example, disconnecting the 12V battery for a...

Macan EV Poll: Type and frequency of software-related issues you have had with your vehicle?

I completely agree. If these were software glitches, we'd all suffer the same problems, given that we share the same code. In my particular case, 10,000 km and 0 errors (except for one time when a warning appeared about assistance functions being restricted due to a dirty sensor). It's highly...

What's your estimated range with 100% SoC?

Yes, we agree. That's why I said I wouldn't drive again for maximum efficiency; it's not worth it, and it's very boring.

Reduce the cost of electric car charging with hourly rates

I use Octopus Intelligent Go, a tariff that uses the cheapest hours at a reduced price. It does this by connecting directly to the Macan. Also, as @daveo4EV explains, I have an EVSE (V2C trydan) that I can program with different tariffs, plus I can control it with Home Assistant and program...

What's your estimated range with 100% SoC?

I once saw a range of 550 km on the PCM at 100% charge: the days before, I drove about 500 km (60% highway, 40% city), kept the speed within the legal highway limits (115-120 km/h), made merges onto the highway and started at stoplights as if I had a 150 HP car. I also tried to use the brakes as...

Turbo service and Macan 4 loaner

Those are my exact numbers: about $8,000 difference between the 4S and my Turbo. $8,000 for more engine power (123 hp), more torque (310 Nm), bigger brakes, a unique interior and exterior package. Plus, it has a "turbo" logo on its ass... Yeah, a 4S is a lot more reasonable, but what the heck...

Home Assistant is now available as a Porsche App

When you are parked simply go to Settings > Companion app > Android Auto favorites (or Driving favorites) and select the entities you wish to view. Once you have added favorites the next time you start the Home Assistant app in the vehicle you will be shown your favorite entities...

the mobile app has stopped receiving data from my car

It's an issue with the Porsche Connect service on the server infrastructure side. I base my assumption on the following: It's not an app issue because I can get the data through the Porsche Connect Home Assistant add-on, and it's the same data I'm accessing in the app. It's also not a car issue...
