  1. So called Driver Aid

The car clearly cut in front of the Merc as it was driving on the wrong side of the road, taking pictures. The delay in the system is the same you see when using Adaptive cruise control. If a car cuts in front of me the last minute the gap closes significantly before the car realizes this (too...
  2. So called Driver Aid

ADAS works for children as well as adults. In the case of children it is even more sensitive as children behave erratically, run in all directions, jump, etc. ADAS also works for infants, so you can be crawling on the ground, sitting, jumping from/under a parked car, etc. AEB detected a face...
  3. So called Driver Aid

This would not have happened with the Macan as it mowed down the pedestrian emerging behind parked cars (1:55): I have seen other cars slam on the anchors and manage to stop. I believe this is what happened to the merc, the camera car with a man strapped in the boot facing the merc suddenly cut...
  4. Passenger Window Replacement

Straight to the dealer for oem glass and fitting don’t take it to an auto glass shop, they use third party glass so markings, tint, fit, thickness, etc. can be different. I think Macan glass is saint-cobain. Pay the excess and let the insurance foot the rest.
  5. Software updates - why is Porsche so far behind.......?

why is Porsche so far behind.......? Because they can afford it, unlike other "lesser" brands. I have said it before the fault is the customer, when customers tolerate this sub part product because its a "Porsche" that is what you get, zero effort. VW has already turned with the ID.1 hopefully...
  6. Problems with Homelink Pairing to Garage Door Opener?

Have you tried holding buttons I & III at the same time for 10-20 seconds? Once it flashes it resets the module, at least it did on the older Porsches. Next would be a 12v reset, remove the negative 12v terminal, that should sort the PCM if stuck.
  7. Problems with Homelink Pairing to Garage Door Opener?

If you did not press the button on the fob maybe somebody started the configuration for the button but did not complete it, I suggest deleting and starting again. To delete the button I think you swipe left or right on the screen. This YouTube video is clear: Disregard my instructions in...
  8. Problems with Homelink Pairing to Garage Door Opener?

That’s a rolling code, did you watch the video in the manual? Mine is fixed code so you press the button on the fob and it learns it, job done. For rolling if I remember needs manual sync which goes something like this: Press sync Press the mirror button for 3 seconds Press the mirror button for...
  9. Climate controls query

That is not true, every Macan has the P button but not every Macan has a heated screen (~450 euro option). There is no button/setting to tell if you have the heated screen. The center console is the same for all Macans except for the Ventilated seats, if you did not spec those you will be...
  10. Climate controls query

It's not the A/C MAX it's the MAX Windshield Defrost button for the heated windscreen. The rear defrost button does the rear screen & mirrors.
  11. Climate controls query

    1) Have not noticed, as it's always in auto, will have to check. 2) Don't think I have option codes sticker with the Macan either in a booklet or on the body so the only option would be to visit a dealer run the VIN and see with your own eyes the result on the screen, 4GR is the code for the...
  12. The charging battle btw Big Brother 800V and little Sister 12V

If you drop below 12v the car may not start so you can’t drain your battery over 50% See my post here: https://www.macanevowners.com/forum/threads/220v-socket-in-the-trunk.23920/#post-354774
  13. MY26 software update (week 36) for MY24-25

Mine was under 97 kWh when new, 10K km later it's barely over 91 kWh:crying:, guess frequent DC charging 250+kW and battery temps 50+ degC does that. I didn't do the update but CarScanner while perfect for the ID.3 most of the values for the Macan are gibberish. Hope the Max Energy HV Content...
  14. [anti-FUD] -Porsche Digital Key overview - from Porsche!!

A key fob battery may die once a year with warnings ahead of time. A phone battery may die several times a day depending on use. Digital Car Key should always fall back to NFC otherwise you'll have tons of people stranded. The provided NFC card doesn't work with UWB obviously. If there really is...
  15. 220V socket in the trunk

That's the unfortunate Porsche world we live in, crap specs for 3 times the price just to get the badge. For the price of a "well" specced Macan I could buy 3 EV3s and those come with V2L 230V x 16A = 3680W = 3.68kW. They also have V2H & V2G. Macan offers as an optional extra (obviously) a...
  16. UK Servicing of an EV

iX3 is at least 2 generations ahead of Macan, I will not go into specifics as this is a Macan forum but if interested you can get a small glimpse here: https://www.motor1.com/features/775297/bmw-cto-interview-state-of-motion/ Looking at it from an exterior/interior design point is completely...
  17. UK Servicing of an EV

I would stay with BMW, iX3 is a far superior product. Servicing for all EVs consists of cabin filter replacement, brake bleed and inspection. Same as a 20K handbag you are paying for the badge and Porsche charges accordingly. Porsche doesn't even offer service plans. BMW at least allows you to...
  18. 220V socket in the trunk

I will try my best to calculate this (more knowledgeable folk can chime in). Typical Resting AGM battery: 12.7V Typical Dead AGM battery: 11.8V (12.7 + 11.8) / 2 = 12.2V (50% life) If battery drops to 12V you will start to have problems so to be safe I will calculate to 50% = 12.2V 12V x 68Ah...
  19. MY26 software update (week 36) for MY24-25

It is an option in the menu. It will wipe everything from the car and return it as it was when you bought it from the dealer same as wiping an iPhone before selling it/handing it down.
