Whats your average speed showing? Currently I'm getting the very nice range of 340 miles in a macan4,, but my commute is slow A roads with my avg speed around 35mph. I dont drive miss daisy, and use aircon and cooled seats as needed.
I did the same calc a while ago, and concluded the only extra range is down to the larger battery. Clearly EV's have improved over the last 6 or so years, my macan is clearly more efficient than my old I-pace, but the improvements now will be tiny steps, until there is a step change in battery...
Macan 4 in Cheshire - Direct line told me they would not renew the car. Went to LV £500. Got to end of month went back to LV now £750. Did moneysupermarket and went with RAC direct for £350. No tracker.
I also had an I-pace on steel suspension, and now in a 4 with air, the 4 is better ride, plus you can play with your ride height and driving modes all the way. I had a 24 built 4 for 3 months, my sept 25 build is better built, better SW, hasnt been back to dealer in 8K miles.
I have the 4, without crono. I dont really understand the reference to launch control, in an ICE you can be revving the engine, winding up the turbo. In an EV you cant do any of this.
For UK speeds, and I'd imagine USA as well, 4 is plenty fast enough, especially 30-70mph. I can understand the...
I can go to work either cross country, slow road, 30-50mph, or motorway, 70+ all the way. Difference is then 250 miles range on motorway, or 300 on the back roads. Back roads is only 30 miles, motorway 50 miles, takes the same time.
At first I thought you meant that charging to 100% leads to energy waste, because of no or limited regen. Which is lost energy. Especially on my trip home from work, with fast highway but with roundabouts, so you go from fast, to fairly heavy braking, very early in my trip.
Hopefully new info, I was in traffic, and bored, so deployed the spoiler. Then was on a fast road, and noticed my spoiler was fully up, which as we know only happens above 95mph on a test track, but I was only doing 70. Likewise it went down at about 50mph. So basically the manual 'open' seems...
It would be great if they put a button on the climate screen, even if it had a 10 minute timer or something, to stop people leaving it on all the time - in fact I think the jaguar one turned itself off after a few minutes.
I drive a country road to work, last car was an I-pace, which had a heated windscreen, so I added this to my macan, and a rear wiper, as the I-pace didnt have one. Basically it means you can clear your rear view immediately, not waiting for airflow to do it. The only annoying thing, is that you...
I've recently had something similar, went on holiday for a week, UK temp was 0c to 5c. When I came back, range has been 200 miles or less. its now 2 weeks, and range is now increasing, currently 250 ish.
it does dive, but its assuming you will run this level of heat until you hit zero battery. In fact normally you will turn off heated steering wheel, turn down heated seats, and heater, as the cabin warms up, and your range will slowly improve.
if plugged in, it should extend your range, lets say you will use 2kwh to heat the cabin from cold - this now comes from the charger, so you effectively gain 2kwh of range - 4-5 miles.
