Another datapoint... Just completed another 2000+ mile road trip. Yesterday the longest leg was Jackpot NV to Brigham City UT (EA). 211 miles, left the hotel at 100%. Arrived at 21%. Calculates to 267 miles of range. Mix of 70-80 MPH speeds. 55F-70F temps.

Did the same drive in January in the cold (20F-40F) and would have arrived at just 5% (222 mile range). Ended up doing a short charge stop along the way to add 10% and really arrived at 15%, but for the whole leg it used 95% that time.

Now we have some warm weather in the UK, I'm getting 320 miles range, and can get that IRL. Thats with AC and cooled seats on as needed. 4 on 21 inch.

I charged to 100% for the first time last week and it said 359 miles when I got in the car.

...I wonder if we ever see that magic "7" as a first digit!!
I wonder more, however, if that range would be achievable for everyone with similar car and configuration and at similar climate conditions depending mostly in the driving habits or some cars are indeed been made better than the rest...!

I can get 600 km or more of range out of my Turbo; I managed it back in May:
- minimal highway driving
- minimal air conditioning
- gentle acceleration
- flat terrain
...
With an RWD or a 4, you could do even better.

Now, in June, I dropped below 500 km because I did the exact opposite of all the above.

I think people focus a lot on range, but you have to understand that it’s just a number: it doesn't mean much, it isn't fixed, it’s just a snapshot of the past and it depends entirely on the factors mentioned earlier and many others.

It is far more important to know how much energy you’ll use on your upcoming trips; the more you drive, the better you’ll understand this and the clearer idea you’ll have of the range you can expect.

I understand that for someone driving their first BEV (myself included), the first question that comes up is, "How far can I go in this car?" The answer is: You can't know for sure; it depends on multiple factors. Just drive and enjoy it.
