Fabric (Race Tex, Alcantara or similar) critical control surfaces (steering wheel, manual gear knob) offer better grip than leather but only when the driver wears fabric racing gloves (maybe also when having bare sweaty hands?). Other than that, it's lighter than leather so saves some weight...
I was planning to reply "it's probably caused by the environment, not the car"-until I read this-
But on further reflection, I still think it is the environment, which for those who aren't used to it (with its precipitous drops and rock face whizzing closely past in peripheral vision) and are...
And unless you took a MY24 from new stock, you'd be waiting even longer to get a Taycan (though expected delivery dates for either can't be relied upon) which will be a facelift so a larger price differential (though with an improved base spec that might change the spec balance sheet relative to...
The issue with loading the 4 with cost options is that they add very little to its resale value.
That's another point in favour of the Turbo (if you can avoid too many cost options) but the challenge will be securing one of the far fewer allocations of Turbos than 4's.
I think that the Porsche link I posted upthread is referring to normal max power when it states "at least 10 seconds", rather than launch max power which is for 2.5 seconds. Apparently, the regulations require that the claimed (normal max) power level is able to be sustained for up to 10...
You might get lucky searching for pictures of that combo on other Porsche models. This video of a Papaya Macan has orange stitching, seems to go OK as far as I can tell-

I'm guessing that any items more prominent than contrast stitching- i.e...
I've just come across this on the Porsche website, in the section titled Important information about all-electric Porsche models - I don't know if predates the Macan and if so whether it still applies, but here it is anyway:
"The specified power is available for at least 10 seconds and the...
At least in the UK, due to the tax benefits for EVs for businesses and salary sacrifice, I expect a lot of leased Taycans will be handed back and replaced with Macans, because people compromised on the Taycan to get the tax benefits and Porsche prestige despite it not being the preferred SUV...
I agree, and that's why I'm doubting Kyle's understanding- perhaps he heard this during the car's development, but it's not something that has come in to production. I noticed in a video by another journalist who was in a prototype driven by a Porsche test driver, that the launch control...
Elsewhere on the Porsche website- "The new Turbonite metallic tone is exclusively reserved for the Turbo models. Like all of our paints, this one was very carefully composed by the Porsche Colour & Trim experts. Gold elements create an elegant, metallising effect, with the top layer in a...
I'm unsure as to whether if he means from a standing start, or by flooring accelerator (and if so, is that from any pedal position or only from zero accelerator input)- BUT he explicitly says that unlike the Taycan, it doesn't require Launch Control, and it gives 10 seconds of power at the level...
I expect that it'll depend on the used market when that 12 months is up, so I'm guessing 30% 12 months from now, as used examples will be rare- but 50% loss in the first 12 months for a Macan that is bought new in 2 years time, because by then, like for the Taycan now, the used market will be...
Surprised that, unlike on a the Taycan, the Turbo only gets smooth-finish leather seats if an Extended Leather (or Club Leather) option is taken. Care is needed to check all the details of standard and optional equipment as even similarly named items might differ between the two models.
Yes- I'd guess the typical full Porsche range of variants will be announced over the next few years, including a single motor version (otherwise why not call the Macan 4 just the Macan), which seems a bit odd for an SUV with offroad pretensions.
