I was wondering if the heads up display would have some reflective issues during night time driving with ceramic tint installed. Anyone install windshield ceramic tint with the HUD optioned, any issues? Thanks

I have not done it on the Macan, but from my experience with BMWs with HUD, you are wise to be cautious about putting anything between the HUD projector and the (already coated) windshield.

it’s been a few years, though. IIRC, the HUD still worked on the BMW with a very light ceramic tint, but the depth of the projected image seemed like it was much closer and I lost the depth perception that is so critical to most HUDs. I ended up removing it just as soon as I had it installed. Pretty sure that’s why the manufacturer specifies a coating on the stock windshield that fine tunes the image.

My entire windshield is tinted 50% in Xpel ceramic (can’t remember exact line, XR something I think). I have zero issues with AR hud at night.
About the only complaint I have is that I can now make out the faint reflection of the “box” outline where the hud is capable of displaying.

Good to know, thank you
