This is not the case.

I drove a factory Turbo demo with 7,000 miles on it and the BOSE is horrifically bad. Sounds like a handheld AM radio playing a Yankees game in 1960 in a bodega. Even with Treble and Bass compensation active.

In addition - BOSE says explicitly that their systems are made to not require a break-in. Per BOSE "Bose engineers pre-condition drivers during production and rely on onboard digital signal processing (DSP) to maintain the target response from day one. If any audible change does occur, the system’s adaptive EQ usually compensates automatically."

The Macan EV BOSE is system is not up to snuff by luxury car standards. Sounds like it should be in a base Wrangler.. It would be nice if Porsche offered and update which included something from Bose which enhanced the audio; DSP modification or similar.
I’m an audio fanatic, spend way too much time and $ on home audio. Only reason I didn’t get the burmester is because I bought an off the lot turbo and there weren’t any burmester options at the time. The Bose is very good. On par with our Tesla model y, maybe a little better. Leagues better than Rivian meridian system, not as good as Volvo bowers system. For a stock system (on the turbo) I really can’t complain. I enjoy my music while driving. If your system sounds that bad there’s something wrong. You should have service take a look. I’m not a Bose fan but I’m surprised how well / neutral the system is in stereo (turned off all the 3D stuff).

I'm not that impressed w/ the stock Bose either. But there are many other factors inpacting what one hears, like road noise, audio source (XM is poor), bluetooth, your hearing, etcetera. I do like the Mecan EV and that's what matters.

I see you have a Macan 4. The Bose is not the stock system. The stock system is a Porsche branded sound system with less speakers and less power. Bose is the upgraded system in all vehicles except the Macan turbo which gets the Bose as standard. Just in case there was confusion there.

The doors say BOSE. I can’t recall if Bose was added on but this car was specked and ordered for us with some upgrades. Rear wiper too. Woah daddy oh.

When not in a car, I enjoy music a listening room but
I know that’s a very unfair comparison. But in the car audio realm I have experienced better. Just sayin.

6.13.25 update The BOSE® Surround Sound System comes with/ the premium package.

In my experience, Bose is very good. Certainly above average and not like the sound system in a Wrangler (friend owns Wranglers)

I had Bose in my previous Taycan, and initially thought it was bad, but after some use, it did improve remarkably, and I don't think it was because "I got used to it". The bass extension and mid range became less muddy, and quite good overall. I experienced the same on a brand new Macan Turbo I test-drove - the Bose sounded bad initially. Then I test-drove a demo Macan that was several months old, also with Bose, and it sounded much better. So I think with these Bose systems, they do seem to get better with some use. Not sure why that is, because I certainly don't normally experience that with other car sound systems I've owned.

That said, I went for the Burmester system on my Turbo anyway. I just wanted to try something different after getting Bose on the last 2 Porsches. The Burmester has been great so far. This is coming from a self-proclaimed audiophile :)

I will not be confident in loudspeaker that need hours of heavy duty to be broken. Modern louspeaker with modern suspension are almost immédiately broken.

The Bose sound system is only average.
FWIW, I took delivery of my Macan EV last September, and I'm very happy with the Bose system.

Got a loaner with Bose but without insulated glass… difference is quite significant!
