It's NOT glass. It's plastic. It's not cracking from heating and cooling and no one from Porsche who knows anything would say so. It might be delaminating from a molding defect, but again, delaminating plastic does not put swipe marks on surface dust above the scratches/scrapes or imprint marks on the dust below it.

It's not the pollen--it's the fact that you're saying there was nothing touching the car when obviously something touched the car to swipe the pollen away and push it into little ripples under the trim piece where it's externally chipped from the top down in the second photo.

If the defect were just inside the plastic and nothing had touched that area, the pollen would still be evenly distributed like it is everywhere else. That's what shows something brushed or hit that area and why you're having a hard time getting a warranty claim.

If there are other cars delaminating on this particular part due to a bad production run, that will help your claim with Porsche.
At least two others have same issue with their car as well see attached photos.

That's good (bad) news...shows that there are cars delaminating without external damage and so hopefully you will have more luck with the warranty claim now.

I've noticed the same of my black glass trim now... :crying:

Will mention it to my dealer when it's back at the shop (again) to replace both charge lid covers (manual) next week.

Can you post photos of your trim here on this forum? I think I’m going to need the assistance of other owners in order to do a warranty repair. One dealer already said they would not cover that under warranty based on the photos I showed them.

The good news is I finally got my car back from the service center (Porsche West Broward) and the rear black trim piece was replaced under warranty. I guess the delamination/cracking is a known issue?? After I brought it into service they said it was covered. They ordered a new trim piece (they said its a light, but I didnt think that black trim actually had a light under it) and was sent overnight which is AMAZING to get it delivered so fast. Unfortunately when the new piece arrived it too was damaged (sounds similar to smiles11 post that when they received the replacement part it was delaminated).

Dealership ordered a new trim piece and had it overnighted as well and it arrived in perfect condition.

Good luck to everyone else that has the same cracks/delamination. Your cars should be covered under warranty so don't let them say otherwise

I do have the same issue :(, even though it's not as worse as yours.

For me, my repair was covered under warranty so yours should be as well
Yeah I do not worry about this, but I am really disappointed by the lack of QA for the Macan. This is even worse than all the cars from other brands I owned before and actually I would have thought the other way around.
