I put this video together for those who are overwhelmed or confused by the new gauge clusters on the 6th Gen 4Runners. It may seem overwhelming coming from the analog 5th gen, but once you're in it, it all starts to make sense.

Your video answered a big question I had so thank you! I was wondering why I couldn't find tire pressure on the left tach side (it was only available as an option on the right speedometer side until I made it also an option on the left). I didn't realize you can customize the menu for each side!

Yep, glad it helped. It’s very customizable. Just need to play with what you want to see and what you don’t for each profile.

Also take a look at HackSaw's excellent concept for tracking your settings.
Quick reference placard for 12.3" MID settings

Here are my current settings (decided to have everything available on both left and right vs HackSaw's "cleaner" approach)

Would be great if we could add a third display like fuel economy in the center instead of the blank and driver assist display.
I agree. Having a blank space there is worthless, but maybe they wanted to keep the dash a little less cluttered. Don't know...

Good job for your time and effort, so sad that it is needed in the first place, it's a car after all, life is too short for this complication.

Nice job! One "hidden" thing to point out (I read the manual)--long pressing the Mode button pauses/resumes audio playback. Very handy, previously I always wondered why that control did not exist--turns out it does, just hidden.

I agree it would be nice to have more choices for the center portion, but overall nicely customizable.

Good nugget! Thanks for sharing. If people find out more Easter eggs, I encourage folks to share in this thread.

Thanks for your efforts, but this gauge cluster is so needlessly complicated. Just let me scroll up or down thru every available option. Why do I have to customize 3 mostly identical screens and only be able to see 6 of the items?
