How to read the battery temp indicators on the instrument cluster? Its these bars on the left of the tube with these red and blue indicators.

You’re looking at the minimum and maximum operating temperature, and the area in the bracket is the ideal range for charging.

I like to think of this as the ideal range to start charging. That temperature will increase as you charge to a maximum of 55C (130F approx) before the car throttles the current to stop it going higher.

These higher temperatures are normal for charging. What the car will not do is try to keep the battery temp in that small range for the duration of the charging.

The high temperatures take people by surprise!
