I am very interested in replacing the plain vent panel on my center dashboard with a Sport Chrono Clock. It doesn't have to activate with the sport chrono package (I don't have that), but I would like it to display the proper time and light up appropriately. So, I know it has 12VDC Constant Power, Ground and a LIN Connection to grab that network to adjust the time appropriately. The vendor shared the below image on where to get constant power (easy enough to do with piggybacking on the fuse that is already there and connecting to chassis ground). Challenge I have is they are suggesting removing the seat to access the center console (between the seats) for that blue connector module. That seems like a lot of risk for a connection I would guess is somewhere else on the car. I am a little nervous about tearing apart the center console to add a wire I have no idea will work (and also the risk of where to put it). The Taycan has LIN behind the Instriument Cluster (Pin 17), just curious if anyone has done this and if the Macan as the same LIN in the same place....

Thanks for the help, would be great to install, but happy to return if it isn't possible....

I regret not adding the chrono clock when configuring my Macan EV and thought about adding after the fact. Dealer talked me out of it because it's somewhat complicated and crazy expensive. The photos look complicated. If you do this I want to know how it turns out. Good luck.

I decided to make my own. I bought the 95C housing from Alibaba with a chrono clock bracket. A Waveshare Board and about 40 hours of programming. There is a LiPo battery hidden in the passenger side fuse panel (so it doesn’t get too hot) and a GPS to lock the time from satellites. Once it locks that in, it updates the onboard RTC and synchronizes. Then when it starts up again, it starts with the RTC, and adjusts over a minute if the GPS is different. You don’t notice it with the second hand. I had to custom make ASA brackets to fit the housing, but with my Bambu X1C it was pretty quick! I think it looks good. Eventually the displays will get brighter and down the road I can replace it. It also dims at night, using the GPS to calculate sunrise and sunset.
