I describe a feature here that appears to be missing from the Macan EV. I am hoping it maybe addressed in a late software update.

A feature that I really appreciated in my 2020 Taycan was that the car would show a negative arrival percentage if you disabled the Porsche Charging Planner and routed beyond the limit of the battery capacity. This was very useful in two primary scenarios for me:
  1. When feathering it into a charger that I really want to use and knowing how much feathering is necessary.
  2. When at a charger and knowing how much more is actually necessary to get to destination with planner disable
I have seen plenty of road trip videos and recall this when test driving a Macan EV that if you route beyond the range of the vehicle and disable the charge planner so it doesn’t add a charger. It’s simply shows 0% at arrival. That is not useful. Because it could be -1% or it could be -49%. The former can be addressed by driving slower. The latter would have no alternative, but to find a charging solution.

Hoping someone with a MY26 vehicle can tell me whether this has been addressed as of yet. My car is still on the boat getting close to Panama. And I’m just an anxious parent wanting to know what my child is capable of.

Also interested in hearing what others feel as the importance of having a negative percentage shown on the in-car Navigation versus clamping it to simply saying 0%.

example:
See offset 1:04:00 in a nice video showing an arctic road trip with a Taycan and a Macan EV to the most Northern Fast Charger in the world.

Agreed, the negative arrival number would be much more useful. I'd almost never see it because I'm not one that's comfortable pushing it that far, so I'm usually targeting arrival with a significant safety buffer. But there are rare times where we have a long gap with no chargers to cover that's close to the limit, and I have to decide whether to risk it or take a longer route around with better coverage.

It's not uncommon to see the arrival% move +/-10% along the drive, where a -2% start may still be workable. But when it just shows 0%, you don't know if that really means 0% or -15%.

100% agree as Taycan owner that negative values are very helpful. My only way to manage around it would be to use the Range bubble line as a reference point but that would be approximate at best.
