When getting into the car, I can rarely get the Seek button on the steering wheel to scroll thru my SXM favorites (just scrolls ALL channels) unless I change the PCM to the media screen first. Then it usually starts working.

Also, I have the diamond button set to previous channel/track. That doesn't work at all (does nothing) until I switch the PCM to the media screen.

It's annoying to have to switch to the media screen to get this damn thing to work.

Yeah, the diamond button was a problem for me too in exactly the same way -- worked with every other function you set it to except "previous channel". I recently got the car back after they replaced the control unit and two other items and it seems to be working properly now but I'll double check that it really does work when I am not on the media screen now.

The even weirder part is that the 2 problems don't always mirror each other. Sometimes the Seek button works to scroll through favorites-only (as it should) but the diamond button still doesn't work. Sometimes neither work right, sometimes both work right.

I would have hoped that it was the same failure causing both problems, but unfortunately they appear to be two unrelated problems. Making it even less likely they'll fix both anytime soon.

Not the end of the world, of course, but those buttons are gonna be used every time we get in the car, and often. Minor inconvenience in itself, but magnified by frequent usage.

Just checked and it always works up/down one station now, no matter what the main screen is on but it never works to go through the favorites. It appears that the favorites list has little actual use...

I played with it a bit more. I can usually get it to seek thru favorites by going to the PCM, selecting Media, be on SXM, Favorites tab highlighted, then actually change to one of the fav stations to start playing. After that, the Seek button seems to scroll between favorites-only as it should.

But I have to do that every time I get in the car. Even though it does seem to automatically play the station last used from the previous drive, it doesn't seem to be looking to see if you already have favorites selected at the top of the SXM screen.

The diamond button is still a mystery. Works one drive, but not the next. Like flipping a coin. 🤷‍♂️

This car needs a whole better way of doing favorites (presets). My Mach-E handles all this just fine. I can even mix sources in my presets list (SXM + AM/FM). Perfectly logical. Seems obvious.

Yeah, there’s no reason a favorites list can’t mix and match things. Media, radio/sxm stations, phone numbers…whatever.
I’ll try to see if the next/back goes through the favorites list if I select the station from there to start with. It definitely does not if I happen to already be on a favorite and the list is open though.
