Front license plate pics (U.S.)

I've watched just about every video of the electric Macan on YouTube, and looked at hundreds+ of photos online. I just realized I have never seen a photo of a Macan with a front license plate from the U.S. — I've seen plenty of videos and pics with the skinnier European style plates.

Suddenly I'm struck with dread trying to imagine my chonky NY State plate wrecking the beautiful design of the front. Sadly front plates are required in NY. I don't even see a place to attach one?

Anyone have photos of how it looks in the U.S.?

Thanks! Most of the videos were disabled, and the pics were very close up so it's a bit hard to tell. But I did find one vertical video with a plate holder that was empty. Overall, not quite as bad as I envisioned, but I still wish we didn't need front plates on such a beautiful vehicle.

Alternatively you just go without the plate in the front - many cars don’t have plates in the front when they’re supposed to. ?

The Sto-n-Sho mounting reduces ground clearance by just 1/2”, e.g., picture distortion. Had one of my Corvettees, a BMW iX, and now my Macan EV for over 4 years in total without a scrape.

Just another choice…

I went with the Sto-n-Show. Calif. law requires a front license plate. It's easy to install, looks good but it does scrape the pavement from time to time. So far it hasn't been enough to bend the bracket or damage the lower splitter but it may just be a matter of time. ?

What height is your Macan set at?

There are a couple of dips in and out of parking lots where it has scrapped, I've tried both lift and off road, while slowly inching through the transitions, still scrapes but not as loud as my first experience.

The lowest part of the bumper the bracket is about 3/4" lower but farther out with the bracket rods remaining straight it's about 1-1/2" below the bumper.
I've been thinking about doing a little reforming of the pencil rod to curve it up and follow the bumper's profile, that might solve the scrape.

ah i just returned my loaner which had the oem front license plate. if you want to see how it looks like, im sure you can ask around dealerships to see their macan ev loaners, im sure they'll all have them mounted for legal reasons.

I had the same concern as you but it’s required here in Texas, though rarely enforced, so I decided to go ahead and do it. All in all, I don’t think it looks too bad.

Not bad at all @CaseyATX! You're lucky you have cool black and white plates that look great on the white car too.

@flowerman, Nice. I feel much better after seeing these. I was worried they would be higher up on the front before.
