AVAS is not monotone it varies in pitch so pedestrians can tell if vehicle is accelerating or slowing down.
Plenty of videos on YouTube if you have never heard an EV (example below):
Same, wanted 18-way for superior looks and so much nicer to sit in but unfortunately no massage so had to go 14-way. Another plus of the 14-way is that they are more accommodating to the rear passengers as the space is already very tight in the back.
Personal choice, I would never pay for it and even if it had it for free I would never use it, I hate fake sounds EV or ICE. Love sound of proper ICE and silence of EV (stealth mode).
I’m using a CTEK ONE I believe it’s called, it’s a smart charger does everything from lead acid, AGM, EFB, lithium, etc. no polarity, no buttons, just connect the small clamps and switch the socket, it does the rest, has Bluetooth to connect with phone & various programs for charging, never used...
It’s just an AGM battery you can see it if you remove the small cover. Taycan had lithium 12v battery; rumoured replacement cost: 2k+
Reason not to connect directly to the battery terminals is you’ll be bypassing the cars BMS, the car monitors 12v battery health / any current going in/out / etc...
It should turn in neutral how else are you supposed to use those conveyor-style car washes / winch it on a flatbed / etc.
But have never tried it in park or neutral.
If you are a man of unlimited patience that enjoys hours of gentle rubbing and stroking your steering wheel / seats with a moistened MF cloth and finishing off with a vacuum so the hairs are really upright after every drive: alcantara / race-tex / suede is for you, I’ll take leather every time...
Added to my never ending list of VAG cost cutting measures, my 16 year old Audi illuminates the door handles..I had missed this one thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Yes just trickle charging the 12v, car will sound the horn as all cars when you lock it with the bonnet half shut, make sure to use an AGM trickle charger (or select the AGM mode if using a “dumb”/manual trickle charger) and use the points provided by the manufacturer, never directly on the...
I treat it the same as my ICE cars, anything over 2 weeks, the trickle charger goes on.
The only difference for the EVs is if I won't drive them for over 4 weeks, I make sure the battery is between 50-80% charge. 50% is ideal but I'm not gonna drive in circles if it's a bit more, if it's under I...
Mine used to do that but it was a simple fix as we knew the problem, dealer fried an ecu while performing an an update.
The car was undrivable but I monitored it as we were waiting for the ecu to arrive.
The car would not stop waking up which would drain the HV battery.
To see what's causing the...
I’m laughing as I expected nothing less from Porsche. I am convinced they have a whole division of German engineers tasked to make a $100 part into $1000 and then design it in such a way so they can charge another $2000 to fit it (otherwise it would be a 5min job; I mean what’s wrong with bolts...
It’s a big change for a traditional/legacy manufacturer relying on suppliers for firmware. For a manufacturer not stuck in 1948 i.e. tesla/rivian when adaptive headlights became legal in the USA in 2022 (under their own rules) this was just an OTA update for them as they control the...
