The encryption is a requirement in Europe, and the reason the ICE Macan is being discontinued there. It wasn't feasible to upgrade the electronics in that model to comply with the new cybersecurity regulations that are supposed to prevent tampering/hacking.
My guess is it would have stayed in the lane, emergency braked and flashed a “Risk of collision“ warning when the semi got into your lane. I’ve experienced it doing that when a slower moving vehicle merged into my lane just ahead of me.
I didn’t try contacting EA when P&C wasn’t working because I didn’t want to tie up the charger while there were cars in line.
At the EA that I normally charge at and where I twice had a problem there are only four chargers, with one being down for weeks now, making it a three-charger station...
I’m glad I spec’d InnoDrive. I spent 90 minutes on congested freeways two days ago and not having to deal with steering, accelerating and braking made the drive far less stressful and more relaxing.
If you use it appropriately and have reasonable expectations, it’s fantastic.
And it happened again to me today at the Electrify America in Malibu -- P&C didn’t work even after three tries. I could have paid out of my pocket to charge but still had plenty of SoC, so I just left. The only reason I went there was to see exactly where it was located, I had seen it in...
The PARK button needs to be pressed for some minimum length of time. I’m not sure exactly what that is, but if you press it for a second it will always work.
And yes, the car will sometimes turn operational readiness back on when you exit because the key is still in range. Ignore that and just...
I have had Plug & Charge failures at Electrify America twice. The authentication failed, but I could have paid for the charge and continued. Since I didn’t really need to charge yet I left and came back the next day, at which time the authentication worked and I was able to charge for free.
Try deleting your Porsche profile in the car and creating a new one (can be the same name). That solved all my recurring CarPlay connection problems. Make sure you only check the third icon (CarPlay) in Connection Manager when you connect your phone, don’t select the Phone and Music functions.
Yes, the Porsche engineers don’t like regen because it is inefficient — it’s the same reason they resist one pedal driving. You lose energy when you convert from stored electric charge into kinetic energy, and when you convert kinetic energy into stored electric charge.
^ And as a resident of California, may I just say that I envy your electric rates. We pay at least 50% more per kWh. And this in a state where everyone gets prodded to go electric...
Odd. I would think item 17 must break down into at least two parts. I have full leather and the outside of that item is leather, while the inside is plastic.
Maybe it’s considered one piece because the leather is glued on and can’t be separated from the plastic.
I have that option, Los Angeles has some of the worst air quality in the country (though not that bad in my particular area near the ocean), so I figured the system would help when venturing into more polluted areas.
I had problems with the MagSafe case I used in my previous car. Once I switched to a non-MagSafe case, I have had virtually no problems. I still position the phone in a specific place though (perpendicular and in the back left corner).
