Porsche route planning charger priority

I was recently on a trip from Vancouver area to Calgary. I arrived in Merritt BC to charge. The Porsche Nav Planner had me charging at the Electrify Canada station in Merritt. I turned off the highway towards the Electrify Canada station and saw a nearby Tesle Supercharger station. I confirmed it was a V3 Tesla Supercharger in the Tesla app. I attemped to charge and the Porsche displayed a message to the effect I wasn't authorized to charge. I tried another unit at the same location and got the same message. Curious, I went to another nearby Tesla Supercharger V3 in Merritt and failed there as well.
A call to Porsche and I was told that I had to have the Supercharger as a charging waypoint to begin the charge. I was asked if I used the Tesla app or the Porsche app to initiate charging and was told I had to use the Porsche app.
The same day while driving to Salmon Arm BC and Golden BC, I couldn't get the Porsche app to allow use of the Tesla Supercharger as a charging waypoint. It would appear that Porsche prioritizes the Electrify Canada sites and won't allow the Tesla Superchargers to even appear on the nav map when a search for charging stations is performed. In Revelstoke, which has a horrendously poor Elec Can station, the Tesla Supercharger did indeed show in the charging station search.
It would appear (yes, I deleted all favored stations in the PCM nav) Porsche is favoring the ElecCan stations over perfectly functioning and empty Tesla Supercharging stations.
Has anyone else noted this and if so, would you have a workaround?

Porsche lied to you about the Waypoint being required.

There are a number of Tesla stations in Merritt that are Tesla Only. Plugshare shows only these that are available for non-Tesla https://www.plugshare.com/location/1264761 (there seem to be 2 entries for a total of 24 units here)

The other 2, including the one across from Canadian Tire are Tesla Only.

Edit: The Salmon Arm Tesla location says it's open to non-Tesla, but a Taycan owner posted a failure a few weeks ago, so something isn't working right there.

Edit 2: Golden BC has 2 Tesla stations, only one of which is open to non Tesla. The Plugshare score of the Tesla Only one is pulled down by non-Tesla users unable to charge!

As a US owner who drives in BS sometimes, the Porsche map shows me none of this data on my phone. I think the car shows it though.

Plugshare is very useful to get a view of what actually works.

It may be a coincidence that VW are majority shareholders in Electrify Canada and Electrify America …….. and Tesla is maybe No 1 competitor …….

THank you for the information. I will remember to cross check with PlugShare. I use it, but not regularly. I had tried the Tesla Supercharger at Mary Brown’s due to close proximity to Starbucks. I then drove to the Best Western Tesla SC and finally to the CDN Tire Elec Can. I did charge at the Revelstoke Tesla Supercharger. Every stall was occupied. Good service there.

There are claims that the 97 interchange at Merritt is getting Western Canadas largest charging hub when they build out the new thing there. Presumably very fast chargers too.

News seems to be scarce though, even on the official site

Also a “coincidence” the pricing at EC was double of Tesla.

Another thing to look out for is the “Only available charging plugs“ setting in the filter screen of the app.

There may be suitable charging stations in the area that don’t show up because all plugs are in use at that time. I recommend leaving this setting off and deciding where to charge based on the realtime availability information.
