I'm not trying to be a jerk when I say that it sounds kind of reasonable. I would have guessed at least $10k. Installation of an EVSE at my house was $2k because of the cable run *across the garage*.
I think I would do it if I owned the condo.
I've noticed my 12v battery typically sits at 14.4v while the car is running and 13.4v when I first turn it on. I just thought it was interesting that it seems to sit at the high end of the range for a quality 12v car battery. I wrote a note about it and figured I would share it here.
When you park the car, before you press the power button (if you do that), the middle screen has a slider that allows you to keep the car AC on when you exit. You must lock the doors manually after you leave the car. This is covered in the manual.
I don't know enough about what actually happened, but (to me) it looks like a typical startup that had aggressive goals, failed to meet them, and will get recapitalized with new management and new investors. Possibly organized into another company to get the customers rolling.

Earlier in the thread, I said I inquired about the cost of the Porsche maintenance plans. I was quoted higher than MSRP listed on the Porsche website but I still have no explanation of the actual services. The 2 and 4 year services seem fairly easy to make out but the heading of "general...
Northvolt (the batteries slated for the Boxster and Cayman EVs) was a European attempt to reduce reliance on Chinese batteries. And Northvolt went bankrupt. There are efforts in both North America and Europe to reduce reliance on Chinese batteries, but ... going about as well as might be...
Do you think energy density in Porsche EVs will double in more or less than 5 years?
Would a halving of battery weight be enough to improve the weight problems in driving dynamics? 75% reduction? How much does active ride help?
I'm wondering how much things would have to change to motivate me...
I appreciate ClearWatt's efforts. I hope for the best for them.
ClearWatt's estimation method relies on a proprietary algorithm using proxy data correlated with the displayed data from the dashboard display. It might work. But there are also pretty standard test methods that are published, peer...
