If it makes any difference, dealers were getting MY2025 4S allocations in September and MY2025 4S's started to arrive in their showrooms in late November, along with MY2024 base 4 stragglers.
Officially the Macan model year is as shown in the VIN.
In North America the configurator didn't change from 24 to 25 till late October-Early November time frame. I think there was a few weeks where it overlapped, when you could configure both a 24 and 25. By late November there was only 25s.
Dunno about Porsche, but the normal calendar year and...
In my case, it has been within +/- a day or two. The app update and email usually came a day after the event, however. I am surprised how accurate my SA's delivery prediction was.
I watched a few minutes, but it became obvious that this was not someone who enjoyed driving and was ranting against the EV charging infrastructure. He also has a completely different opinion (subjective) on technology and further viewing is a waste of my time. He appears to be a Tesla fanboy...
Ah man, for those of you with Macans on Future Way, it may be awhile. After a good start the ship was delayed a couple days by weather and now is caught in a traffic jam at Davisville.... it is parked off shore waiting for the vehicle carrier dock to clear, perhaps Tuesday.
Thats not true, there is no correlation between chance of a fault that could lead to a fire and charge. A battery fire as a result of the fault at more than 20-30% charge is much more likely and serious, however. So with your logic and the desire to avoid fires, we should never charge more than...
There is tons of research and real world data that indicate these batteries are much more robust and durable than once thought. I think a couple previous posts here references some of the studies. Charging on the home AC charger to 100% routinely has no ill affect, except perhaps for Teslas who...
Years ago I had a new Perelli tire vibrate that came and went. Tire shop checked balance and then suspected a bad tire. One very cold morning it fixed itself. Guess was a belt a little out of place and it slipped back. Wore those tires out without another issue. So called road force balance...
California is a very liberal state and this may be backlash to Musk's politics. Or perhaps its just that folks have found the Tesla to not be a very good car and now have more choices.
The VW ships seem to always stop in Halifax before heading to Jacksonville. The two new ships that VW charters may vary (Way Forward and Future Way). One or the other sometimes go non-stop to Jacksonville.
Porsche uses RADAR for ACC and augment with optics and Navigation data for InnoDrive features. Traditionally RADAR is used for collision avoidance and keeping a fair distance from the car in front (ACC). Works very well. Optics are used to reduce false collision avoidance alerts. RADAR is not...
FYI, It looks like those big Northern Atlantic storms are slowing travel, my boat is currently over a day late getting to Canada :( ...now two days late traveling less than ½ speed. Hope the cars are well tied down.
Yes, there are a couple new vehicle carriers (born in 2024) that started operating in 2024 that wouldn't show up anywhere previously. They are not VW managed ships and you will not find them on their schedule, but they are chartered by VW.
I've been commuting in mixed snow/ice 100+ degree weather for decades and you touched on the point that tires are still a compromise. You put decent snow/ice tires to be safer in snow/ice but on a dry highway you can't stop as quick as the fellow in front of you running all seasons and you rear...
As discussed elsewhere, matrix lighting has been allowed for some time, took awhile to publish the specs however. I think Rivian has compliant lights, just waiting for certification.
The US requirements are a lot different from EU requirements (more stringent distance, brightness, and response...
The SA told me that without prewiring, the front is easy but the rear can't be done (by a Porsche dealer)
There are US consumer laws that restrict broad denial of warranties because of a minor mod. They have to show the modification contributed to the failure.
In the US you don't get the fold down ball. There does not seem to be an aftermarket, these usually hang below the bumper anyway. I think there was a Macan EV hitch in the Porsche accessory catalog. Its the typical remove a bunch of stuff, cut some stuff, run some wire, put everything back...
I received the notice that my car left Germany so I looked for ships that left port about that time and were headed to North America. There was only one.
Your best source for accurate data is to ask your SA.

I didn't get anything from Mercedes, got wonderful license plate frames from Chevy, key chains from Audi, BMW, Mini, Chrysler, Plymouth, Jeep (some genuine leather, some plastic), scratched body work from Ferd.... I think I got a lighted leather keychain from Dodge, nothing from Lancia, a nice...
