My recent WSJ0 update seems to not brreak anything and home charging continues to work at the same 9.1 kw rate (Porsche brand wall EVSE).
Note that I do not have schedules, departures, or locations set. It has always been simple direct charging.
My updated WSJ0 without issue, everything seems to work including home charging. In response to my "reluctance to fix something not broken" comment, tech indicated this update should keep it not broken. There was no mention of updates other than a more robust network architecture.
I've seen this often in highly regarded name brand products though 2010, the last I looked, mostly in the subcontracted garage developed boxes that either forget about all the things that can go wrong, or didn't care, lose a bit at a bad time it probably bricks a CPU. But we learned plenty of...
I've worked in hardware/software/subsystem integration for vehicles for decades. Companies do not typically have the capital to get something like a car or truck to market in time so partners and vendors are assembled to get it done. Each is different and have different software maintenance...
Just to add perhaps more confirmation, when I dropped of the 4S this AM to get caught up on service campaigns, the order included WSJ0 , update to version 28.13.
If you read through WSJ0 posted elsewhere here you will find install instruction revisions corresponding to pauses. Better...
I think I read somewhere that the Taycan 11 kw charger was an option and there was so many reliability problems with it that they dropped the option.
No question the documentation/marketing is a mess of confusion.
From personal experience, the very well regarded Hankook summer performance EV tires developed enough cracks over one 500 mile winter season to fail safety inspections. Every EV "summer performance" tire I looked at as a replacement had low temperature warnings . If you use summer performance...
The disadvantage of using "Summer" tires all season is they don't work as well sub 50 F and can be damaged by colder weather, below 40 F.
My 4S came OEM with 20 inch Perilli Scorpion MS and I like them. I don't find the steering response to be dull for an AS tire, but then the car has RWS and...
Some tires get noisier when worn a bit. Most if not all of my strange EV car noises have been tire related because EVs are so quiet you will notice noise that are under the ambient ICE car level..
Alignment being a little off is usually the second choice.
Swapping wheels/tires to test is what...
Once set up correctly, given the tips here, most of us by far have zero issues with carplay. Mine has worked flawlessly since set up by the dealer SA a year ago. By the time I hop in the car, tunes are playing and the map is displayed ready to go.
Yeah, don't compromise... but each of these seats fit different body build very differently. You will find many reports that 18 ways are tight and not comfortable, others love them. Some seat leather is harder than others, some break in better. I find I need to add a little pad to the 14 way...
At very low speeds and sharp turns you may feel skips or jumps because of the way Porsche sets the wheel alighnment
Dunno if the UK Turbo has PTV+ as standard, but a malfunctioning rear diff could lock both wheels together which, I suppose, could cause what you are observing.
The first time this happened to me via plug/charge I called EA support and they reset the charger. Did not work, they didn't know why or not aware of the limit. Their solution was to try another station. But, apparently the charger/data base retains the disconnect info and will not allow a...
I noticed EA has been preventing retries for months now, it would be nice if a reason was provided when you plugged in.. You have to wait maybe 30 minutes or drive to another EA station.
So it appears that your session stops for any reason, error or limit, you can't just plug back in.
The...
Keep in mind that the Porsche wall charger, and all other J-1772 compliant EVSEs that I know about, will only use two AC legs regardless. If you connect the EVSE to true three phase power, you end up with nominal 208 V to the car instead of the 240V when connected to the split phase nearly all...
There was quite a long thread over in the charging section a year ago that provided much detail on the 9.6 kw limit in NA. It seems to be a hardware limit of the Macan's charger, but software can ask the EVSE for whatever..
The EVSEs are basically smart AC relays (or contactors) with overload...
Somewhere I read that there are many compliants in EU of these matrix headlights blinding oncoming drivers, can't find the report at the moment. It seems matrix technology looks good on paper and the lab and work well on quiet roads but fail otherwise. They are a still a nuisance around town...
My daughter prefers that her shepard mix ride the back seat, easier for him to get in and out and she thinks safer (large dog, I think about a lean 80 pounds). I have a 4Knines hammock style seat/door cover that works well when I need to pick him up or deliver him. There is room for his "travel...
Yesterday I was in a similar situation after I stopped on an incline to get my mail before moving on to the garage. It would not shift out of park, although there was some activity. It appears in that situation, the seatbelt must be fastened.
