I really hope they find a solution for your charging problem. Overall, the vehicle is a pleasure to drive. Perhaps you will eventually get to enjoy it for many years and just remember these struggles as a bad nightmare.
I’ve had it happen to me a couple of times. It resolved after getting out, locking the car, and waiting until the car’s computer shut down (about a minute later). I suspect some of electronic components failed to load during the computer start up.
Not trying to get political, but if someone has an in with the government, a POTUS note in truth social telling the NHTSA to change this “stupid” regulation may be all that it’s needed in the current environment! Lol
That’s an old article from 2022. The US regulations are stricter and require different hardware and software programming. Unless the US softens its stance and grandfathers or gives exceptions to current Porsche models (for which Porsche would need to apply, I believe) I don’t see it happening...
It offers enough protection for that. Said that, I live in Atlanta so I don’t have to deal with snow and mud. I suppose that I would consider switching to the WeatherTech ones if I lived in the north.
I have the Porsche’s OEM. I like the WeatherTech mats and have them on my other cars (Tesla, BMW X6, Honda), but they were not available when I bought my 4S. I thought of buying them when available but I’m happy with the ones I have now. I think I would only replace them with the WeatherTech...
What about Adam Polishes Leather & Interior Cleaner and Leather Conditioner? Do you have any experience with it? I found that their Tire Shine is one of the best.
This discussion reminds me of the one when the iPhone was released. Other phone manufacturers as well as users made fun and/or protested: “What, a phone that is used for browsing, for emails, with apps? I just buy a phone to make phone calls!” “We know how to do phones, Apple doesn’t (Samsung)!”...
I have noticed the same thing over and over again. I think it’s programmed to recognize average consumption in kWh/100mi (rather than mi/kWh), in which case a lower number would be better. I have contacted Porsche NA twice about this mistake (the wrong use of “Great” for a worse consumption)...
Thanks for sharing. I’m definitely worried about this issue and I’m closely following this thread for any news on what caused it and the way it was resolved. For now, I will continue to hold on getting the update since my car is basically problem-free.
I’m not sure whether this applies, but maybe…
Location-dependent charging settings in the Porsche Macan can interfere with home charging if not configured correctly
, often causing the car to delay charging or fail to start when plugged in at home.

I just received an email from Porsche notifying me about the software update. I am somewhat hesitant in view of a few owners reporting AC charging difficulties following this update. I think I may wait a bit, at least until they find the reason and there is a fix for this problem.
FSD has improved significantly. It used to be like you described so I only used it when driving on the highway with our older 2019 Model X. However, if I want to, I can now drive “driveway to destination driveway“ using FSD without touching the steering wheel or pedals on our new 2025 Model X as...
At any Porsche dealership and free. You should call and schedule an appointment. Or do it through the My Porsche app. When you schedule the appointment request a loaner. It takes a few hours but they will probably keep the car for a day or two.
Now, I personally would recommend to wait a while...
@daveo4EV , what’s wrong with your wife? Per your note:
“Well my wife and my 2021 Cayenne TurboS eHybrid is in the shop for some service - at my request”
Lol

Since 2024, a lane-keeping assist system must be included in all new cars sold within the EU. In theory, this is a good step toward a...
Haha, I’ve only had a few glitches on my Macan that went away after getting out and locking the car.
Tesla works because Musk makes the whole software department vanish if they don’t get it right! Heard their families are still trying to locate some of the software engineers…
