  1. Brand new Turbo: Multiple issues

See post #17 for the reason why Porsche fit it.
  2. Tariff anxiety . . .

I may be wrong but, as I understand these things, any US government tariff would be charged on the price paid for the car on import by the importer, in this case Porsche USA. This will be considerably lower than the price paid for the car by the eventual customer because this includes the not...
  3. Brand new Turbo: Multiple issues

I see you're in the US, so this might not apply, but in Europe, lane keeping software is mandated and manufacturers are forced to include it by law. It, therefore, is not an option that you pay extra for. It is also mandated that the system must activate each time you start the car. Porsche's...
  4. Sound system Macan EV standard, bose, burmester

£3k isn't expensive in the world of Hi-Fi, where high end systems can cost more than an entire Macan Turbo, so I wouldn't expect that much even from the Burmester system. I have the Bose in my car. It's fine for a car, not Hi-Fi, but no car system can really compete with a decent home set up.
  5. Satisfaction survey - Poll for current Macan EV owners only

No, its not a matter of camera calibration, this is an issue that effects all UK Macan EVs. The software isn't capable of correctly detecting UK speed limit signs. It will correctly identify some, but by no means all of the limits where the sign gives the number in miles per hour and it fails...
  6. Assistance systems causing dangerous situations (serious)

I'll certainly post the outcome of my car's scheduled visit to Porsche! When using Innodrive's Adaptive Cruise Control does setting the speed manually in your car stop the car from altering its speed in response to speed limit signs? I ask because, this is what I do on the motorway and I have...
  7. Assistance systems causing dangerous situations (serious)

If I recall correctly, the original topic of this thread was the Lane Keep Assist "feature" not the Innodrive function, which comprises Active Lane Keeping and Adaptive Cruise Control. I have no experience of the Audi systems, but I have a Tesla and Innodrive is basically the same as Tesla's...
  8. Macan EV outsold ICE model by almost double in Q4 2024

I don't think so, at least in the UK, for this reason (given in the thread you mention).
  9. Assistance systems causing dangerous situations (serious)

@Wivenhoe, When you turn off the speed limit warning, the actual speed limit (or what Porsche thinks it is!) remains displayed in the main display (in front of the driver), but the otherwise irritating audible warning is silenced.
  10. New Macan ICE being reconsidered

I doubt it would because of this:-
  11. Assistance systems causing dangerous situations (serious)

Lane Keep Assist is hopeless in my Macan and keeps trying to cause the car to veer off course, but in my experience, the equivalent systems in all current cars are just as bad! Innodrive 's Active lane Keeping, on the other hand, is on a par with Autopilot in my Tesla in most respects and...
  12. Macan EV outsold ICE model by almost double in Q4 2024

Porsche and most other European manufacturers are totally committed to EVs. They have little choice given that the sale of new ICE powered cars is due to be banned sometime between 2030 and 2035 in most of Europe. Manufacturers are already facing government imposed financial penalties for...
  13. [UK] Porsche Connect & My Porsche

If you are at home, connect the car to your home wifi (I also own a Tesla and you have to connect it to wifi for most software updates, so I'm used to doing this!), elsewhere, you will have the same issue with other cars (e.g., Tesla) where there is no 4/5G signal.
  14. [UK] Porsche Connect & My Porsche

You may actually be on to something. The UK is a European market with the same basic regulations as the EU, but we use miles not kilometres and we drive on the left. So the software for the UK has to be somewhat of a hybrid between the US (miles), the EU (many regulations) and Asia (driving on...
  15. [UK] Porsche Connect & My Porsche

I have similar problems with the app; preconditioning doesn't work, the app regularly wrongly reports the location of my car and so on. Off topic, but I have also been experiencing multiple other software issues since I took delivery in November, including a complete software meltdown the day...
  16. Rear wiper or not ?

It rains a lot here in the UK. I don't have one and I don't miss it when driving as air flow plus heat (if required) clears the rear screen in minutes. I also think the car looks better without it.
  17. Carwow: I drove these NEW electric cars until they DIED!

Yes, I am sure it's correct (but the basic rate will be £195 not £190 from April 2025). See: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/vehicle-tax-for-electric-and-low-emissions-vehicles
  18. Carwow: I drove these NEW electric cars until they DIED!

But not for a car that's already on the road! That's only £190.
  19. Carwow: I drove these NEW electric cars until they DIED!

Here the annual tax for an EV is .... £0! next year it will rise to £190, which is the same as for the least expensive ICE car.
  20. Carwow: I drove these NEW electric cars until they DIED!

The cost of home charging in the UK, where this test was conducted, can be as low as £.075 per kW/h (over night rate) and fast chargers are about 10 time more expensive £0.74 per kW/h (Tesla superchargers are less). I have run an EV for the last 3 years and about 90% of my charging has been at...
