David, excellent point and I should have included that in my earlier response. The dealership proposed that approach at our Thursday meeting. To do that they need approval from Germany (to my earlier point about how neutered the dealerships are). They requested approval on Friday morning and they do not expect to hear back from them until sometime next week. You would think that would be a no brainer thumbs up decision that could be made in a matter of minutes. Apparently everything takes days or weeks to deliberate.
I had a similar issue with Rivian, but got the vehicle back several times just to have more issues. Went on for about a year before I got fed up and started the lemon law. I decided at that point I wouldn’t purchase another Rivian (waiting to return for the buy back). Surprised with your experience you would give the Macan another chance, but that I guess speaks volumes to the brand and your enjoyment prior to the issues developing. Sorry for the troubles, thats really frustrating to go through with a new vehicle.

Very interesting results so far...7 cars out of a total of 49 are giving such a hard time and bad experience to their owners making them regretting for their decision to get a Macan EV...🤔 Frankly,I was hardly expecting such a result...Not from Porsche at least!
I really hope and wish to everyone voted the 3rd category, their problems soon be addressed and resolved and finally get the car they've been waiting for!!
It would be good to capture the MY of the voter’s cars to see if there is something more with the early deliveries i.e MY24. Just a thought.

It would be indeed a good idea if the MY could be taken into account as well but it would mean all voters must come back here and vote again.I also have the feeling there's a great chance the newer deliveries having fewer issues than the first ones or even maybe there're considerably more without any issues at all than in the past.

Given the satisfaction posts in a couple of the "regret" threads, I thought I'd pop this poll back up to the top to remind folks to vote or update their votes. As of this posting, 9 out of 76 voters are dissatisfied.

(I wonder if there is a way to keep polls up at the top so that people remember they're there?)
I think the only way to keep the poll at the top or always visible to newer members it's someone keep posting something here, unless there could be something like a " sticky" thread I've seen in other forums in the past and the administrator assign the poll as such.
BTW just as soon your post made the survey resurface there were already at least 10 more folks casted their vote. Most interestingly all 10 votes were entirely without any problems at all!

The OP’s survey now shows 90% happy; 10% not. That is a better postivie ratio than when the poll ws up just a short time. We anll expect Porsche to keep improving the Macan EV, up their factory QC so that as they leave the assembly process so nearly 100% are 100%, and soon some further software updates.

IMO wrongly aimed wiper jets and misaligned charging port doors will stop being noted by new buyers here shortly (of course as they should have been from day one).

As both J.D. Power and Consumer Reports have each said many times (paraphrasing here), first years buyers be it an entry vehicle or even a Rolls Royce need to be cautious, might want to wait a while until the new models are sorted out.

Also hoping they’ll fix the door closing issue, I was watching the review by The Straight Pipes this morning and they had the issue as well.

It’s a little embarrassing after complaining about Tesla doors every time I got in one 😅

this washer aim i'm seeing ppl talk about now. I think the jets are aimed relatively high because when you're at speed, it wont just hit the bottom of the screen...

I'd say I'm a 2.5. It's a lovely car, but one of the main functions I utilise on my vehicles is the intelligent cruise control/innodrive, which is completely useless on the Porsche. I've had to turn off traffic sign recognition and go back to 'old fashioned' cruise control. Complete first world issue, I know, but when you've had to pay extra for a function, as it's one of the main features you wanted/use regularly, and it still doesn't work 4-5 months after the car was launched... combined with the small niggles we're just having to accept, it puts me off having such an expensive car, when my last car did everything I needed/wanted and more, but was just getting too old to be my company car.

I’m not sure what you mean? I use InnoDrive all the time and it does a good job. I like it, I think even more than my wife’s Tesla self driving feature. I don’t use traffic speed recognition though, specially when doing city driving, as I like to control the car’s speed. Maybe it is better suited for the more ample American speedways… 🤔
I do agree with your other posts though. Just to show I was wrong when thinking that you were the perfect wife 😂

I think that’s why you haven’t had any issues with it.

Two frequent journeys I do:

M6 both north and south (I live in the midlands and my sister lives down south, and we frequently explore the country staring off on the motorways). It’s a smart motorway, so the speed limit changes in various increments throughout the day depending on the traffic conditions. In the 10 mines between joining the motorway and getting off 15 miles later the speed goes from 70mph standard motorway to any combination of 70/60/50/40 in and down. My etron used to be fine recognising 90% of the changes both up and down (most of the times it missed it was when the sign was for the national speed limit, rather than a number). The Porsche seems to think the motorway is 50 mph when I get on, then ignores the majority of the smart motorway signs, and never picks up the limit going back to 70mph.

Journey 2 is the A38 from Tamworth to The East Mids which is about 50 miles long for me. The speed limit changes from 70 (dual carriage way) to 60/50/40 depending on the surroundings. The Porsche doesn’t pick up half of the speed signs, and the final straw was when it tried to automatically brake from 70 down to the 50pmh section, only picked it up as 5mph. Really dangerous when the car suddenly slows considerably for no apparent reason when there’s a 30 ton truck right behind you.

At that point I turned off the smart functions that I’d had to pay extra for. And I still monitor what speed limit the car thinks the surrounding roads are, and it’s still all over the place. It just can’t be safely trusted.

Perhaps I wouldn’t be disgruntled if it hadn’t cost me extra, or I only did urban driving, or it hadn’t been one of the most useful and most utilised functions of my etron that I’d come to enjoy. 🤷‍♀️

I wonder whether it has more to do with the calibration or sensitivity of the behind the windshield camera rather than InnoDrive itself. I once had a warning that the speed recognition function was not available when the windshield was dirty. It didn’t clear after resetting the PCM or after parking with the car off. But immediately cleared after wiping the windshield. If so, it may work better with a software update or, worse case, with a camera upgrade ($$$).

No, its not a matter of camera calibration, this is an issue that effects all UK Macan EVs. The software isn't capable of correctly detecting UK speed limit signs. It will correctly identify some, but by no means all of the limits where the sign gives the number in miles per hour and it fails to identify and interpret 100% of the national speed limit signs the car passes.

@SuperH, I apologise for not letting you know sooner, but I have been advised by the Porsche Centre dealing with my car that Porsche are well aware of this issue and are urgently trying to resolve it. The reason for my silence up until now is that they have yet to resolve a multitude of other software issues with my car, which is back with them as I type.

Even without InnoDrive, which I don't have anyway, I find even on Adaptive Cruise Control, it does misread speed signs sometimes. And that applies to even when I use speed limiter, which I often use in town driving.
It is not accurate in reading speed limits. Perhaps just a UK vibe ;)
So, I just have in my mind to have the hand ready to quickly move the stalk up and down when this happens.

I’d rather just set not have to drive for an hour or more in a state of high alert as to whether or not I’m about to be crushed by a lorry. It would be like a scene from Final Destination where I’m fated to be killed off by my Porsche at some point, no matter how many times I try to dodge fate 🤣🤣🤣
