Thanks for the video, Dave! Our car is experiencing the exact same metal-y, rattle-y sound as you described (although yours sounds a bit like a creaking noise from the video). We've tried those two methods and the rattle was not fixed. Our dealer here in Westchester didn't know anything about it...

We definitely did that! Yes, we did! (although still trying to get used to the turning radius (we optioned for the rear axle steering)

We took delivery early in the fall and noticed this problem from the very beginning. My dealer here in NY did not fix or deny the rattle from the trunk area. We will be trying all of the temp fixes, well, until we have to just ignore it. This is a 3 year lease anyway...

Gotcha! We tried adjusting the distance holders several times in different ways, but have not unscrewed them very far out yet, worrying that might affect how the trunk lid closes. So the rattle noise has only got better but not disappeared yet. Thanks for the tip!

I will try and play with my distance holders again like yours; what do you mean by "your mileage may vary"?

Could you attach a photo here with the insulation tape, with which I assume you replaced the paper towel. Thanks man!

Could folks provide more feedback on the two methods (added layer of wet paper towel and adjusting the distance holder) vs. the trunk lid rattle?? Because our rattle is still present (although less than before with these methods.

I just turned mine off completely. So much better without it. The system isn't perfect, one time the camera didn't read the lines correctly (because here in the US they repaint the lines for road work or bridge repair; the old lines aren't always erased and that was when the car got confused and...

Besides the trunk rattle noise, rear spoiler mystery, the recall on the headlights, now this just happened, Anyone else have this issue yet?
