'25 Macan Turbo - Apple CarPlay connection Issues

Just recently my Macan turbo began to exhibit connection issues with my iPhone. The issue is limited to the CarPlay feature and not the voice or media functions of the iPhone from the PCM. The behavior applies when the iPhone is connected to the PCM via WIFI, if I connect the phone with the USB-C port the CarPlay works as expected.
Initially my phone would connect wirelessly to the Macan_xxxx_5GHZ network and CarPlay would work for a few minutes after which I would loose functionality as such:
- the apple map would no longer display the roads/POIs, etc. I would only see a blank grid.
- access to email from the iPhone would no longer work
- browser would no longer work
Eventually I would get a message on the phone asking to switch to cellular of continue on WIFI.

I took the following steps:
- remove and add the iPhone from the Device Manager
- reset the PCM to factory setting

It seemed that the issue was resolved momentarily and but the behavior returned shortly to the point where now CarPlay only works when connected via USB-C.

Looking for suggestions before I take it to the dealer. Cheers!

A few questions that may help narrow things down a bit:

• Do you have the latest version of iOS?
• What iPhone do you have?
• Did you do a recent iOS update?
• Do you happen to have iPhone private rely enabled or VPN? If so, temporarily turn them off and try again.
• Do you have Wi-Fi Assist enabled on your phone? If not, enable it.
• Do you have a second phone you can test with by any chance - that will help rule out device vs vehicle-specific issues.
• Also have you tried to forget your wifi network from within your phone and re-adding the Macan 5Ghz network - not just forgetting the device from the PCM?

Had enough of the flaky wireless CarPlay within about one week. Bought an Ottocast Cube Mini and plugged it in to the USB-C port and it connects instantly every time I get into the car with my iPhone. Life’s too short for trying to solve someone else’s software issues.

If it works at home and then stops when you leave, check to see that the in car hotspot is activated. Sometimes it just turns itself off randomly.
