When using Apple Maps via CarPlay, I am noticing that the music audio volume goes down abruptly to have the spoken directions come through. When using the PCM navigation, it doesn’t seem to do this.

Is there a way in the settings to make it so that the music isn’t turned down?

Sometimes the music doesn't return.... but that seems to depend on the source.

Does anyone else have an issue with the Nav volume being much quieter on Apple Maps? I turn it up, but then it makes the Porsche Nav’s announcements about traffic etc. extremely loud and you can’t turn those off.

I also found the CarPlay Apple Maps spoken directions are very intrusive when listening to music. It fades the music way too much and I can’t find any setting to adjust it like I can with my other vehicles. I hope this can be changed in future iOS or PCM software updates 🤞🏼

Dunno if this helps, I typically don't use spoken guidance.

For most cars, you adjust alert and message volume only while the alert/message is playing.

You can adjust spoken guidance on the iPhone. The steps depend on iOS but you need to be routing when adjusting.

iOS18:
Change the volume for spoken directions
You can change the default volume for spoken directions while following them.
  1. Go to the Maps app

    on your iPhone.
  2. Get driving, cycling, or walking directions, then tap the Go button to begin following them.
  3. Tap

, tap Voice Volume, then choose Softer or Louder.
Tip: You can also change the default volume in Settings

> Apps > Maps. Tap Spoken Directions, then choose an option below Voice Volume.

There is also some sdjustment for intrusion.

I believe Android phones are similar.

I notice what I think are other iPhone apps interfering with the Radio. For example, after a phone call ring it will sometimes return to apple music instead of the radio station. Doesn't seem to happen when I close the music app.

The Porsche guidance announcements were too quiet for me. I inadvertently turned up the volume while one was playing and that fixed the problem. YMMV.
