Buying 2025 CPO Macan 4s - any tips?

Hi all! I am planning on buying a 2025 CPO Macan 4s, and I'm wondering if you have any tips or recommendations for the buying process or after. It's a former demo, with only a few hundred miles on it, and we're buying it in SoCal and having it shipped to WA.

Should I purchase Porsche care for scheduled maintenance? How do I get the Tesla charger adapter? This will also be my first EV, so any help you could give me would be great. I'm planning on getting a ChargePoint Flex installed in my garage - does anyone have any advice on which model is better?

We bought a Macan EV CPO turbo with 1,536 miles. As you asked…

If you have not been able to travel and see it for yourself, get a quite detailed, slow-motion video showing at least: all wheels and tires for curb rash, rubber nicks if any, the four corners of the car, the complete lower from fascia, and the complete body and paint. And have them also provide you ago-mo video of the interior to insure no errant nicks on the bolster entry leather, the entry mud sills from users dragging their feet, the steering wheel leather, and that it has limited surface scratches on the piano black in the center console nor also on the vertical, side-to-side A pillar to A pillar gloss black.

2) As an EV, other than a filter change at two years (during which they will typically want you to buy their windshield wiper blades replacements too), there is little maintenance. While I had some software and hardware derailments, all were completely fixed on warranty and no cost to me. I would not buy any extended warranty for this reason as as detailed immediately below.

3) Get as part of your documentation the ending date on your CPO extended warranty (typically two years from its initial in service date and the CPo’s shall four year. Mine goes to August 5, 2030.

4) As to your adapter, once you own it, inquire as to whether Porsche will, as they have to me and thousands of others with 2024’s and 205’s already in our possession, send you a NACS adapter for free. Call this # and inquire — again after you officially own it. (800) 767-7243

As to ChargePoint, it is excellent. As is Emporia and a few others. As to which model, the safest is, no matter what brand, getting it hard wired from the circuit breaker diretly into the charger (no inteervening plug in). I would only buy one which is UL or equivalent certified, then after your electrician hard-wire installs it with a permit and next a follow up city or county electrical inspection, get that jurisdiction written inspection approval form and send a copy of it to your insurance company.

Check the service history. I have noticed that Carfax often reports dates a car was in for service, but omits *why* it was in. It may say "inspection / fluids checked" or something generic. If you see lots of dates the car was in, there may have been a recurring issue that never got fixed. I think you would then ask to see the actual service records from the seller, or ask a dealer to show them to you from the vin.

@Bustergordon - I intended to buy a ChargePoint charger for my home, based on my positive experience with ChargePoint at my office. I reached out to my experienced EV friend @Fun TC Driving and he suggested either ChargePoint or Emporia.

I decided to go with the Emporia Pro with PowerSmart (as well as a whole house surge protector) based on its NEMA 4 rating (mine is installed on the exterior of my garage).

I am extremely pleased with my Emporia Pro, as were the electricians who installed it, based on the feature set.

I bought my CPO 2025 Macan4s sight unseen a couple of months ago from the dealer. It was a loaner car. I talked to the salesman and explained that I needed him to go through it with an eye for detail, as well as video, so that there would be NO surprises. There was a measure of trust involved, but the dealership’s reputation is involved too. Best experience ever. They also gave me a year of free charging at Electrify America and handed me the adapter, since I flew out of state to pick it up and drive it home. They gave me the Porsche Level 2 charger. Came with the car. Works great.
