OP here. A little more clarity soon the tariff matter:

I just called 1- 800-PORSCHE and spoke specifically to Financial Services. And she said that they get this question all day long.

"Tariffs are imposed on any vehicle orders placed since the 3.5% policy was enacted at the beginning of July. If your order was placed prior to July 1 and you were given a price, and your car is anywhere between Germany and the US Dealership, that price is honored."

I explained that my car is on a boat and it was ~$111,000 when I ordered. She said "that will be your price. It will not change."

And this confirms exactly what my dealership GM stated. In fact they already have my window sticker, ran my lease numbers and I have the entire breakdown including cap cost reduction, green credit, tax rate of my state/municipality, money factor, destination fees, civic license fees...all the piddly shit.

And this also jives with the Porsche Configurator - because each car's base retail price has increased by approximately 3% as of July 1. If you look at a Macan 4S today, Base MSRP is $88,000. When I ordered, the Macan 4s Base MSRP was $84,900; an increase of $3,100. (we know that the tariff is on invoice, not the full retail price with all the padding). THIS is where the tariffs are showing up....not a line item on the window sticker.

So for those of you who have a car in transit that you configured, you know your price. It's the agreed-upon number.

Just talked to my dealer. He said this is not true. Told me to get that in writing.

Well, looks like that's between you and your dealer. My dealer gave me the ordered price. (If my dealer is in agreement with Porsche financial services and Porsche customer care, everything in my initial post above must be 100% accurate..)

Why don't you just cut straight to Porsche customer care. If your dealer is telling you something different than Porsche factory, then I think we know who's in the wrong.

Yeah he told me to call. I may just cancel the order and get a 2026.

I called Porsche on Friday last week. They pulled up my order (now on a boat) and said the MSRP has been updated, and that the dealer is not obligated to honor the price at ordering.

Others on rennlist have reported being told by Porsche that cars produced April - June will be price protected. That would make sense if @Station's car was made in June why it would be price protected.

The amount of flexibility a dealer has on undelivered orders at this point is probably largely a function of the market the dealer is located in. While in transit, the dealer hit me with the 3.5% Trump increase. They agreed to compromise on that to get it below 1.75% and I’ve taken delivery.

I will continue to vote for competence and sanity in the hopes that this idiocy of POTUS “negotiating” trade policy with Americans’ pocketbooks becomes a thing of a past.

The 4S has been great so far, btw :) .

I ordered mine in April (June build). Arrives Friday. I’d be ok with 1.75%

Update: Porsche NA said they offer "support" for those with March and June build dates. I asked what that meant and they couldn't answer.

Interesting and I'm glad to hear your experience.

I'll be following up AGAIN with both Porsche CS and my dealership, and report back here.

My build went hard and unchangeable around June 4th IIRC and production started during the month of June. My car has only been on a boat for ~2 weeks. I have the vessel name and I've been tracking it. It's around New York right now and will head around FL towards TX. Houston is my port.

We’re getting closer! As a data point, my build went frozen in May. It’s been sitting at a port in Rhode Island since Monday the 14th!

We all heard that the car tariffs into U.S. have been settled at 15%. We shall see if 15% holds.

Related questions please:

1)Anyone know whether the 15% includes the for many previous years the pre-existing 2.5% tariff into America, or whether it would an additional 15%?

2) If it hold and is “just”an additional 12.5%, with the 3.6% increase Porsche just passed on, would that mean if Porsche shoves all this onto U.S. consumers, we might expect another 8.9% incoming later?

Any ideas, suppositions?

It's not an additional 15% it's 15% total. The previous 25% was an additional tariff, so we're effectively going from 27.5% to 15%. 15% also happens to be halfway between 27.5% and 2.5% so the additional tariff has been effectively cut in half.

The Porsche tariff pays isn't on MSRP, it's either on the dealer invoice price or some sort of wholesale price even lower than that. So might be more like 6-7% of the additional tariff being covered, or even more.

I don't think there's an additional increase coming this calendar year. I think the 15% tariff was expected and the 3.6% increase may have been with the expectation that the tariff would be reduced to 15%.

VW is apparently still working on their own deal that might give them additional relief. Not sure if that would extend to Porsche though.

Thanks for that good news. I think we will see the increase on the Macan EV be part of its 2026 price announcement, e.g., how much Porsche passes on we will learn then.

I also think you are right that since Porsche is not planing on building any vehicles in the U.S, that if VW gets a better deal than 15%, doubtful any of that would extend to Porsche relief.

I agree that we'll see an increase for 2026 Macan EV model year, and it might be a greater than typical new model year price increase.

I would guess this holds as the conclusion of EU negotiations. Deal done, locked in now.

North America is Porsche's biggest market. Surprisingly, they sell more cars here than Europe. They desperately need this market, which leads me to think they'll eat most of the 15% initially. With most of it gradually trickling into future MSRPs.

But it is a luxury brand where price is less of a limiting factor for many customers like it is at the mainstream level. So maybe we will see some significant jumps in MSRPs, particularly the higher end models. Maybe not as much on the Macan though as (for a Porche) it's on the"lower" end.
