Hello Tomek, I just received an email from my dealer. They couldn't find a single recent message about the suspension cracking sound when driving over speed bumps.

I previously sent them # 2432 of October 18, 2024. They asked me if you could recieve the new bulletin number from your dealer when your car is there for the appointment at the end of this month.

I have some update, my car is at the shop for another week.

This noise is caused by PASM - following instructions from Porsche they disconnect or somehow disabled PASM and it was gone.

So far nothing about the fix.

Thank you for your message. It was indeed obvious that it was in the suspension. But good to know that the sound disappeared when PASM was turned off. Now for a solution... PASM would feature a new two-valve technology. I hope that technology is sufficiently developed and that we are not, like I was with my Taycan, practical testers of their new inventions…

I recently also noticed a ticking noise in the rear suspension. I recorded it and sent it to the garage, but have not received an answer yet.

It's bizarre that my wife's 17-year-old MINI passes the same speed bumps with even higher speed without any noise. I will wait and see if your garage finds out a fix, but I will let mine know that the complaint has disappeared after switching off PASM.

I'm feeling exactly like a tester, for me this is the first car with so many problems.

My loaner - Macan EV MY 2025 - also has this problem (with suspension cracking while driving over speed bumps) and from what I hear it affects a lot of cars to the point my local dealer assumes it's just how this model behaves (which I don't buy at all).

I was at the shop last week. Took the service reps for a ride, they recorded videos (including the noise), documented everything, and sent it to "home-base" for advice. So far nothing.

In the absence of structural defects the only other thing at play is the way the car adjusts the suspension (PASM).

Is it possible to disable PASM without the shop? Not sure what's worse, the noise or disabling PASM.

Will be driving through Germany in 2 weeks, almost feel like stopping @ Stuttgard and skipping the middle-men...

Looks familiar to me. A few years ago I had a humming noise at certain speeds on my Taycan. Also measurements and forwarded to Stuttgart, but "it is within tolerances". So no solution. This problem also occurred more often with other Taycans, but Porsche refused to take responsibility. It won't happen that this problem won’t be solved again...

Actually, I should have known better after the Taycan and I should have bought an EV from my old brand (BMW), but the appearance of the Macan convinced me. And to think that for the amount of my Macan you can buy three problem-free Chinese cars. But yes, the looks of the Macan…

Maybe a good idea, probably the only language they understand.

The more reports they get, the bigger change they'll figure something out.

In my case "home-base" asked the dealer the check a number of things before finally the PASM turned out the be good lead. PASM is not a new technology, it''s in every model and does not behave this way. So let's hope having a number of reports for this an a good lead they will figure this out.

Let’s hope so Tomek. My previous experiences with Porsche problems make me less optimistic. But you are right, especially now that Porsche is not doing so well, they have to be extra careful with their reputation.

Do you also have a ticking noise in the back of your car when you drive over speed bumps or a bad road surface? It’s different than the sound in the front, but just as disturbing.

Tomek will chime in about his own experience, but I do, very rarely, front suspension is much more reactive on bumps since it takes the brunt of the force and the lift.

Ok, Thanks Chris. My wife recorded the sound in the back of the car and I did send it to my dealer. I tried to attach it here, but the file is too big. As is the problem… Can only be send as a Mail Drop.

No, glad to find out there are some issues that I don't have - this is a new one ;)

I just picked my car from a service center after two weeks of them trying to figure out several issues and they told me so far nothing from Porsche on this issue. "It's expected behaviour". I'm starting to very much regret this purchase, should have bought two other cars without any issues for this price.

Start doing launch control on every stop light and you'll feel better.

Jokes aside, will call my dealer to see what they come up with. There is nothing wrong with the cars from a safety perspective, we are the recipients of first gen tech.

Unfortunately for Porsche and every other manufacturer the Chinese no longer have first gen problems and are at half the price.

Good news and bad news. Good news is home-base answered that there are other reported cases and this is now a "known issue", bad news is it's without a resolution. So it certainly is not "expected". They will update the dealer as soon as they come up with something. So our efforts are not in vain; at least there is a confirmation we are not "imagining" things.

Well I have a number of serious safety issues - like doors opening on their own on highway, blind spot sensors not allowing to change lane on highway...
