Love my month old 4S, one bothersome issue that needs to be addressed is the black haptic HVAC control panel. It is very reflective and perfectly catches the sun into my eyes for a couple of hours around noon when facing the wrong direction; very distracting. Just like a mirror. I guess some kind of matte thin plastic overlay would fix this, I have to look into that.
About ten years ago, when Ford re-designed the F-150, they published a video of how their engineers put the vehicle in a sun simulation room and ID'd and eliminated those kind of interior reflections. From experience, that worked.
Any ideas on a matte overlay material available?

Thanks for the suggestion. I bought a small roll of matte PPF from Vivvid for $12 and applied it as a test. It diffuses the light very well and I don't think it looks that bad. I'm tweaking the film fit and it seems that making the ppf about 1/16" shy of the edge will be the best look and maintain function.
