So I've been driving a 2024 Macan EV service loaner for a few days while my Taycan has some campaigns/recalls performed. One of which I'm told should address my center vertical screen issues (black screen, unresponsive to touch, displaying on passenger screen without a passenger) but I've noticed the Macan has the same XM issues as my Taycan. Loss of reception of there's a 4 foot tree within 1000 feet of the car. Indulge me, a little hyperbole never hurt anyone especially when in this case, it really is very little. I've noticed the Macan doing the same thing in the same areas BUT my Cayenne and 435ix both do not. They receive the same stations without a hiccup in the same area with the same four foot tree.

I'm almost at the point of not renewing the XM in the Taycan because I can't avoid driving within a thousand feet of four foot trees and having the radio cut out for seconds at a time really kills the joy of listening to Hozier's Too Sweet or Charli XCX Good Ones. The HD stations don't allow for pause, skip or rewind like XM does.
When it drops signal, it affects that rewind feature since it recorded it with the cutout so I know its not a speaker issue.

Is this a wide spread issue? What are others doing about it? Just living with it? cancelling XM?

I tried listening to a few XM stations when I first got my car and was immediately turned off by the fact that the audio quality was so poor, and that there were commercials on some of the stations.

XM tried calling me incessantly and sent snail mail trying to get me to sign up before the trial expired, but given that we get unlimited (albeit slow, 3 Mbps) data in the US, I would much rather listen to a streaming service.
