Agree if you care about resale keep options reasonable.

if you don’t care, or have a lease, have at it, if it makes you happy, life is short.

For me I kept things reasonable which made me happy to have something more classic feeling.

Disagree with spare tire. Just haven’t had need of one pretty much since I can remember. that’s what AAA is for.

Would much rather have the space.

That's why I said make space in the frunk for a spare wheel/tire, which the owner can option to have or not have. I have had trips ruined with a blown-out tire -- on a Saturday morning driving to a sky resort, in which my car had to be flat-bed towed two hours to the nearest Porsche dealership and there was no way to get a tire that fit until the following Tuesday. Most Porsche owners apparenlty don't do long road trips, but I'm a notable exception to that (multiple cross-country road trips each year), and it matters to me. It's probably just bad luck, but I've had twice as many (i.e., more) flat tires in my Porsches than in all of our non-Porsches in the last 2-3 decades.

The number one factor in avoiding flats is LUCK!. The # 2, 3 and 4 factors for flat prevention:

High quality tires, having enough tread, and keeping them properly inflated — with all three being extra critical for our heavyweight EV’s.

I see so many on forums talking about how they due to tire replacement prices, posting about their “driving around at less than 4/32’s tread width,” with a few saying “I run them down to 2/32’s.” True the less tread, the better the range due to less weight, but ot me my tires for are always gone at 4/32’s for safety reasons, i.e., the more tread, the shorter the stopping distance and the lesser chance of a nail, screw or rock puncturing the tire (plead quilty to being OCD in this area too). I have just had one flat in the last +500,000 miles.

Clownish? This is some community here. Wow
Interesting! This is my first reading and post on this forum. I don't have a Macan EV, so no dog in the hunt. I do have 4+ years experience with two Taycan's (MY21 and MY24)

It seems to me that folks have a great deal of difficulty coping with less than a perfect vehicle when big resources are expended to acquire it. Then have it amplified with someone telling the world about its shortcomings. This is a new production model, it is going to have many of the same issues as Taycan early adopters experienced.

You paid your dues building your channel and I encourage you to speak about your views and not be influenced by folks that have a hard time with opposite views.

Sure yeah gen 1 will have some little minor issues and most people are comfortable here discussing.

But in this case, it just was more a situation of the whole take being way off, and if a mass production model 3 is scoring way higher than a Macan, it was way way off.

And as I have both the Macan and model 3 not sure how you get to 3 is a higher scoring car.

Just missing the driver front screen should get -100 points. I mean have you driven a 3? Constantly looking over is so painful. And then when you have FSD on it yells at you to look straight ahead. Too funny.

Anyway Macan EV is awesome and represents a big leap for EVs in build and driving experience. So glad I made the switch from Tesla, which are fine, but they are definitely mass produced vehicles that are not at all in the Porsche class.
