Long journey nightmare

Currently on a long weekend to France with my wife, got ferry over from uk and driving to tunnel back.
car economy totally shot suddenly - 200 miles has taken 4 charges so far. Charging is also significantly throttled at 60kw max on 300kw chargers. Help!
Update. About 3 hrs late made it to the tunnel. On the train the car shut down as expected. When I switched back to mph etc in UK, the range remaining had tripled. I then went to a high speed charger in UK with a sense of dread, and it charged at lightning speed again.
When I was in France I was getting nearly 50 KWH/100M economy, on the final leg in UK this dropped to a normal c. 29. No idea what's going on, Porsche about to get an "interesting" phone call......

Another instance of the problematic BMS?
hard to test during a road trip, but maybe you should try to go around 0%, charge at 100% and check on the electric charger if around 100kWh (95kWh + loss during charging process = at least 100 kWh) have been put.
if not, the displayed SoC is false, the car bms thinks that the SoC is 10% (for instance), but actally it's 80%, and that's why speed charge is throttled...

Maybe sq5 has fixed that, but in the meantime, our affected Macans are almost unusable on long trips...

I'm experiencing the same issues on short road trips (225 miles one way). My Macan EV 2024 goes into the shop on Tuesday for the latest software update that may fix it. As an early adopter I knew i would face challenges, but never expected issues every small road trip twice a month. Starting to entertain the idea that I may have to trade in for an electric hybrid since my trips are more frequent.

Can understand your thoughts, hard to enjoy a road trip with such an inaccurate SoC in an EV... I use EVs since 2018, and it's the first time thanks to Porsche/my Macan (and the loaner btw!) that I "enjoy" the range anxiety.

And yet there are many owners, myself included, that have the latest software and have had multiple road trips across vast regions where fast charging locations are few and far between.

There obviously are reasons why the experiences can be so different. Some of the root cause(s) are controllable (e.g., update the dang software), and others are still to be discovered (e.g., hardware issues?).
