We saw last week a Hagerty video in which they measured it at 2.8 seconds in a comparison test with other EV’s. Here’s a fun one by Ian McAlpine. He says he got 2.95 seconds for his attempts.

Terrible MotorTrend article. He keeps using phrases like "an amazing accomplishment, but we wish it would let its hair down."

and

"The 4s is a bit like flying a supersonic fighter jet....but it feels as if it’s just going through the motions."

and

"...out on our favorite curvy roads, the 4S CAME ALIVE—or at least as alive as it was going to get."

and

" It’s still got those old-time hot hatch moves, seasoned and improved by age! But the heart isn’t all there."

What's with all the authors silly caveats that he never explains. TELL US WHY it doesn't let its hair down. Tell us why it's like flying a supersonic jet but it just going through the motions.

He may have well said, "Fantastic car in every way!!! But is is no good."

I think he means "it doesn't speak to me," and that, in turn, probably means "it's too settled; I need some more feedback, like more engine noise or something?"

Small question please re a 4S’s front standard splitter, for while I really like my Turbo, thinking of instead when its lease is over of getting a 4S. I understand that the 4S’s standard splitter is not gloss like the Turbo’s, but a regular “satin or matte” black, but is it always three-D textured, or is the only way to get rid of the texturing to add in the the $270 OFFroad Vesuvius Grey trim piece option? TU

i'm with you. The glossy bits on the turbo were one of the negative factors when I decided on a 4S. No offense to our turbo-owning friends in the forum because it's definitely a personal preference. And actually if you have a black car, that gloss looks better than matte.
