This weekend, I ran into a very odd issue: I am unable to choose the level/height of the chassis (Lift, Normal, Low, ...).
The information is gone both from the PCM > Drive screen and the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel (little icon on the right).

I can however feel the car adjust its height when I change the drive mode (Off Road vs Sport for instance) and pressing the buttons in the trunk, I can raise/lower the car as well.
Leaving the car for an hour and getting back to it didn't solve the issue, neither did a soft reset of the PCM (holding the volume button down).

I suspect it's just a software glitch but before I hard reset the car, wanted to check if anyone has run into this before.
Cheers!

After a hard reset, still have the same issue... and using "Hey Porsche" to adjust the chassis level, it tells me the feature doesn't exist on my car.

Frustrating because the chassis level adjusts just fine by switching driving modes.
Will have to take it to the dealership to have it looked at, stay tuned.

This was one of the many things that stopped functioning on my car. Required extensive programming by dealer after over 30 days at the shop.

Have you had any luck with this?

Tried everything I could on my end, next step is having it checked by the service department. Bringing it on Thursday morning, will keep you posted!

Out of curiosity, did you play with the chassis level, especially going through off-road and its different options in the PCM (Off-road 1 and then 2)?

That’s the last thing I did - and the next time I took my car for a drive, the options were gone.

Wondering if somehow I ran into a scenario that wasn’t planned for and the software glitched.

Yeah keep me posted!
Nope not a thing, I did have a smart lift location active then I deleted it however only just noticed today about the levels not being there.
Same as you when I change mode the car height does adjust but doesn’t show anywhere.
Very bizzare

As planned, I dropped the car Thursday, March 6 for them to review what was going on.
Between the communication they provided and the footage from my dash cam, I have a very good understanding of what happened when.

March 6
  • Taken to the service center, waiting for the EV technician to look at it. Turns out he was on PTO so it sat in the lot for a few days.

March 10
  • The car was washed in a different part of the center, then brought back to the service area.
  • Still no one took it inside the service center, it slept in the lot.

March 11
  • The EV tech brought the car to a bay, plugged the 12V battery to keep it charged and read the fault codes. There were none. Also no recalls and no bulletins.
  • A car reset was performed, it didn't solve the issue. But they switch it to Privacy mode at that point.
  • The car slept in the bay.

March 12
  • Not getting any luck checking the car in the morning, the EV tech contacted Porsche HQ.
  • Porsche HQ recommended a Terminal 30 reset which, based on a post from the Taycan forum, means removing the fuse for the instrument cluster and to let it sit like that overnight.
  • The car slept in the bay.

March 13
  • Fuse was plugged back in and that did the trick, the chassis level selection was available again in the PCM.
  • The car was taken for a test drive, I imagine to test the different heights.
  • The car got washed a second time.
  • A 32 point inspection was performed, all fluids were topped and tire pressures adjusted.
  • The tech then provided a video recap of the steps taken to resolve the issue as well as showing tyre/brake wear (unsurprisingly, close to none) - that was pretty cool!

March 14
  • The car was brought back to the dealership and privacy mode removed.
  • I returned the loaner and picked up my car end of morning, finally!

Seems the issue can be easily fixed by unplugging a fuse and letting the car sleep on it.

Overall, it was a pretty painless experience, especially as I was given a loaner.
Let's talk about that part now.

The loaner was a brand new base 2025 Macan ICE - roughly $80k with different options - with barely 400 miles on the ODO. And I *hated* it.
  • The engine was terrible. Coming from an EV and even more from a Turbo Macan, I don't understand who would pay that much for such a crappy experience.
  • The interior of the loaner is from another era, the dash feels very dated and not at all in line with its EV sibling... yet they're both from the same year.
  • People complain about alerts on the dash on the EV... well the ICE Macan also flashed warnings.

On the plus side, it looked pretty good in all black and Spyder wheels - even got a compliment from a guy in a parking lot over the weekend. If he only knew how much I hated driving it... 😅

Lastly, reviewing the footage of the dash cam was really cool. I was able to get into their service center, see the bays and the equipment, as well as realize they have 80+ Porsche cars they are working on there. Impressive! And also allowed me to confirm they didn't take the car for a joy ride. Highly recommend it!

I'll end this post with a pic of the loaner next to my Turbo.
