Don't miss Sea Chest restaurant in Cambria at the bottom of Big Sur. Continue inland for ½ hour to Paso Robles for some great Rhone style wines and great food (sea chest very "coastal unpretentious", Paso has a wider range of options). Plus, a spectacular view on 46 heading back. Avoid 46 east past town. Not as good for Porsches...

California coast weather in summer requires seat heaters and sweatshirts - I have several Monterey and Cambria examples due to assuming the summer is warm

Don’t make my mistake, pack for winter!

Also pack for summer if you drive away from the coast.

I’ve seen 100 and sunny go to 58 and misty in a 20 minute drive in August
