My wife and my CPO came with 18-way’s. We set them, andjusted them initially but not since. Our front passengers have literally spontaneously volunteered how comfortable they are, two mentioning “such an improvement over your 2024 BMW iX’s.” One changed the seat back angle to her preference but so easy for my wife to later press her # 1 pre-set. We really like our 18’s!. I am 5’11” she’s 5’5”.

How do you like the 18-way seats?

Ive always liked them on test drives but some guy in a thread who calls himself very particular about seats, said they were uncomfortable and needed a pillow behind is back because they were hard. (!!!). I think this might be a bit of hyperbole.

My order goes HARD/unchangeable tomorrow and I'm currently 14-way, but thinking about changing.back to 18.
The only real issue with the 18-way seats, imo, is that the seat bolster is very stiff. So, my 80+ yo father in law and my 79 yo Dad, neither of whom are moving particularly well at their age, have more than a little difficulty getting in and out. My 11yo son complained a little about it too, but I think he's over it now (launch control goes a long way toward forgetting other gripes). I test drove a Macan Turbo at PECLA w/ the 14-way seats, and they were fine. I like my 18's better.

Multiple forums, multiple threads, taller (6'2 +) folks are adamant about going with 14. I'll stick with 14.

The dual-layer glass doesn't help with road noise, since that is transmitted mostly through the body. It does help with heat rejection and reducing noise while sitting in traffic.
what about the wind noise?

As mentioned 14 way are fine 18 way are better! Had 18 way in previous Taycan and think 911 Turbo S are 18 Way . Current Macan 4S are 14 way - my first and probably last SUV - I much prefer Estate car wagon for looks and handling.

Yes I definitely think taller individuals need to try each seat in person. I’m about 5’10” and the macan ev 18 way seats are incredibly comfortable and supportive, significantly more comfortable than the ICE macan 18 way seats

Might be a controversial one but I’m really enjoying the electric sport sound. I’m doing a lot of city driving and I really think it adds character to the car. A lot of head turning which I enjoy lol.

Not sure if you noticed this but the ceiling in my parking garage is pretty low and today when I opened the trunk it hit the ceiling. I thought a sensor would have picked this up no? Just a tiny scratch so nothing to worry about but got me concerned that it didn’t pick it up. Anyone else having this issue?

Did I say that I love the car?

No sensor for that unfortunately. It opens to a set default height. But you can adjust the default height by manually moving the tailgate to the right position and then holding the open button for 3 seconds until it chimes. Then the next time you open it it will go to the new height and not hit the ceiling.

Thanks a lot! That’s super helpful.

Main highlight for me is the steering. I love the turning circle of the car, it has really helped in narrow parking spots. I also think the ride is very smooth and car does a good job with bumps.

Having had the car for a week now, I’ve averaged 2.7 mi/kwh which seems ok in my opinion (mainly been shorter city drives).

If anyone has a favourite road outside of London, UK, that would be good to test the car at. Let me know. 20 mph is not that exciting :)

what about the wind noise?
It depends. I drove both back to back on the same route and noticed that on more coarse road surface that generates more tire noise the wind noise and thus the benefit of the acoustic glass it less noticeable. On a smoother road with less tire noise the insulated glass did make a difference going over 50mph. Going above 70mph the difference was even more pronounced. The insulated glass was almost deceiving because I hit 85mph without realizing it because it felt like I was only going 70mph.
