I'm sure you've asked them to itemise this quote - I've a suspicion that paint prep and painting will be a large part of it, since they'll almost definitely be replacing the component and it will arrive unpainted.I got a quote for repairing the damages of roughly $11k (£8k). Does that sound reasonable? This is the part that’s been damaged.
Another facet is labour - I had a bit of warranty work done on my old 911 and it included a charge (notional, it was under warranty) for a day's labour to remove and reinstall the rear bumper etc for access to the engine mounts (they were the faulty components and took about two hours of work to replace). That adds up real fast. And it can seem to be out of all proportion to the "actual" work, as I found.
However, I'd be looking for a second quote for this.
