I just had my Viofo hardwired into the pre-wiring for power. The tricky part was working out which wire of the power pigtail was what. The info I had from the internet didn't match the actual wires.
The Viofo hardwire kit has a very long USB-C power wire that is a bit tricky to pack in the overhead console. We didn't use the pre-wire for the coax to the back of the car though.
The fuses in the correct boxes worked perfectly.
My installer told me of 2 pre-release cameras he has on his car that can be contacted without dropping the CarPlay connection, so that's coming soon to the dash cam world.
I heartily recommend Matt of Dash Cams Seattle, who now knows how to use Porsche pre-wiring for your camera installation!
