I had put a deposit down on an R1T to replace my Ford 150...then I saw the Taycan...and some extra money came in...and well, cancelled that Rivian order and went for my dream brand instead! So, instead of keeping my 2012 Audi A7 and replacing the truck, I am keeping my 2017 F150 and replacing the Audi... I couldn't be more pleased with my decision. Supposed to take delivery of my Taycan on Dec 3rd (we shall see). As my first foray into EVs, I don't want to jump in with both feet, and have both my cars be electric, in case I have any range concerns, etc...but my thought is once Rivian works out their bugs, it will be perfect timing for me to replace my F150 with an R1T! I am very impressed with what I see from Rivian and have no doubt it will become a legitimate EV player in time. Are there any Taycan owners considering a Rivian?
My daily commute is a mix of 100+ highway miles with several hours off-road as part of major infrastructure projects. Right now its handled with my 4WD Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk.
Looking to replace the Jeep with Rivian.

So I am planning on getting an R1S but oh boy, if you guys think this forum is a bunch of fanboys go check that out. Beyond Tesla level. I probably have to stop even looking at that forum because it's a huge turnoff to the brand.
Excellent decision.Reservation holder for close to 3 years for R1T, canceled. Canceled Model S and ate the deposit. Taycan build completed today. I don't know if I was sick of the Rivian forum or just decided I didn't need the truck.
