Looking for information. I brought my 2024 4 in for the recall for big beautiful software and possible rear camera issue. Said it will take a day to complete. I’m at the end of day 2 and requested an update. They told me the car was throwing various faults and they just opened a case with Porsche. The car has been flawless for 4 months before this update.
Anyone have similar experiences?

it took my dealer numerous tries to get it to load the update. But eventually it worked. After three hours. No noticeable difference to the car. We have to accept that software is not a strong point in any German car, regardless of the price. The Rivian investment should pay off in the next few years as everything is over the air and there are rarely any problems.

I sure hope Rivian does a better job than Ford.

I own a 21 MME and while it does get updates over the air, they regularly break something else in the process, or turn off a feature you use regularly. They are getting better but I would not say it is great by any stretch of the imagination.

Oh, and lets not forget the "coming soon" update that takes a year to show up:rolleyes:

This was my week for the rear camera SW update. Thankfully it was in the Porsche shop and NOT over the air. Multiple faults, "car not drivable", "letting it rest", "sleeping over night", turning off the high voltage.
I have the car back home now and all is good, but watching from a distance was painful.
Also had three months of flawless operation before this experience.

Thanks, encouraging.

When I made the service appointment, they said "it might be a couple of days, it might take a week." Good times. Mine was in the shop for just a day, though. No issues since, although like FLHusky experienced, I had to reprogram Homelink.

Updated my 4S two weeks ago. It erased my Home Link for the garage door but otherwise no problem. They had the car a bout 24 hours.
So far, the garage door reset is the only item I had to repeat, but the seat is going to be next. The dealer could not tell me what other functions would require attention. The various steps and number of power disconnects must change previously programed functions, with the list they told me about, there may be more coming.

Mine was in the shop for several days for cameras and WSD0 updates, but I could track it the entire time. They only spent about 6 hours working on it, and some of that was trying to work out how to fix my rear USB ports. (There is little documentation on how to get into the rear center console)

The actual update went smoothly.

it was funny watching my car suddenly move 5 minutes after texting my service advisor asking when I could pick it up!

How to you track your car? Mine just shows me it’s at the Dealership.

You can see if they’re working on it by checking whether the doors or trunk are open. The trips will show if they have test driven it. However, they may disable privacy mode and then you’ll see nothing in the App and probably have to re-enable when you get in.

Just picked mine up from the recall update today and this was the only thing I noticed as well.

Mine took 24 hours... they had trouble with the software load. I lost my preprogrammed Homelink, but super easy to reprogram. I had an issue with the backup camera and now it is working fine. I had also gotten an error that my lane change assist was down, that has since been repaired.
